At first I was trying to figure out what was on the ring…he customized it with a tiny scalpel. 🤣 Only NB would do that. They are such a reversal of the traditional drama couple…he’s the one doing all the relationship things like 100th day anniversary, 520 roses, customized ring.

I’m just disappointed they didn’t show a complete ending, post endemic where they went back to their hospital.

NB’s dad isn’t so bad now that they’ve cleared the mom issue. DD’s dad however is still a jerk. On the flip side…DD, NB, baby is too cute as a family.

At this point, whether CR and LJX end up separate or not depends on if CR is willing to go be a doctor in the country side with LJX.

Episode 27 is where things come out cause he holds her prisoner while she’s supposed to be on vacation.

She was at their hospital to learn to bring back skills to family’s private hospital but she couldn’t take the training. I didn’t realize until I went back to first episode that she was the one in the beginning who couldn’t run to keep up with Du Di for an emergency surgery. Head nurse yelled at her. Really spoiled. Their pricing for procedures at her hospital and practice of recommending unnecessary procedures is so unethical. I get that he’s under pressure because of his sister but there’s other ways if he doesn’t let his pride get in the way.

That female doctor is the one that made him the cake in first episode. She’s been after him since he was dating DD.

Jing Chao is such a good actor…hope to see him as ML in another drama. His acting always catches my attention just like Jeremy Tsui. They’re good at portraying complex tragic characters.

Oh yeah…that was crazy. Hospitals take a hit when Emergency patients can’t pay and they take people to collections but that’s a first hearing that the bill will come out of the Doctor’s pay/bonuses. Bath then this is the first show I’ve seen where the hospital staff routinely get a bonus cause they’re always being threatened of loosing their bonuses.

It really sucks that Yoona is getting attacked, but I don’t believe it’s Junho’s fans doing the attacking. I remember there were some initial skepticism about Yoona because she had a lot of critics of her acting before. I don’t follow her much but I do know that her acting has gotten a lot better from the reviews of Big Mouth. I’m looking forward to watching KingTheLand when it comes out.

I was wondering why it was illegal for the doctors to tell the gender of the fetus and it turned out to be a way to combat the gender selection issues when the one-child rule was in place. I also can’t imagine using abortion as a routine part of family planning but this show has brought up a lot of interesting and surprising issues.

I get the feeling that the Head Nurse is loosing trust in LJX. Finally someone asked LJX about what kind of doctor he wants to be. It seems like he became a doctor for all the wrong reasons…money and connections to hide his country background.

Also, whatever happened to the ring he bought for DD’s proposal? Why didn’t he just sell that and use the money to get another ring? CR already said she doesn’t care about status. Was the cheap ring good enough for DD because DD is also from the country but CR is from a wealthy family?

Looking forward to watching DDs personal and professional growth. She’s gone through so much to get to where she is. Looks like the previews is going to show DD/NB development too.

I think that girl is the one from the first episode who baked a cake for LJX for his promotion. She’s the daughter of the owner of a private hospital and was only learning at their hospital to catch a smart husband. We’ll really see his character if he falls into the honey trap for money. That girl’s future husband would have a high position in their hospital and possibly inherit it.

It looked like he went to her for a job for better money but can he fight off the temptation? If he gives into that temptation he would be all the things he accuses DD and NB of, taking advantage of nepotism.

In regards to screen time issue, I think it’s because both actresses are established so in the beginning there were a lot of fan issues on who was the lead. It was worse when Allen Ren was originally the possible ML. The fans argued over who’s the main character even though it’s supposed to be female focused. It really sucks that we don’t see enough of DD cause I find her complex character to be more interesting.

What pissed me off about the grandma’s reaction to the mom not waking up is her dismissing the fact that DD’s mother is in her state because of them wanting to have an “heir”. She risked her life getting pregnant with all her underlying issues and unknowingly with a brain tumor that was exacerbated by the pregnancy. No matter what, the grandma will always blame DD because if DD was a boy, her mother wouldn’t have had to get pregnant again. If they had not gone back to the hometown, the mom would have at least had her health under control with the correct treatment but once again, grandma calls the shots. The mom is so pitiful because she’s stuck even when she tries to get D’s help, they can’t completely fight against the grandma.

So I guess it will probably be a little sister for DD that she’ll raise. Grandma will never keep another girl, either that or something happens to grandma at the shock.

When I heard it part of me was thinking, could LJX have influenced the question through his network? Lol…he’s not that big of deal but he knows how to play the game and is the one that puts importance on connections.
The final question was dumb because there’s a bias to what the “better” answer is depending on the judge’s views. It was basically DD’s mom’s case. CR’s answer is idealistic but the reality is what happened to DD’s mother. It definitely hit too close to home for DD because what daughter would risk their mother’s life? This is also why it’s not ethical for doctor’s to care for their own family members nor for themselves.
Also, DD would choose friendship over the Chief Resident position. I’m glad that CR has realized what has happened to their friendship. Their friendship will mend. I’m hoping DD will train under Dr Lu in GYN Oncology. Maybe they can both be Chief Resident, one in general OB and one in GYN Oncology.

I would have the same protective shell if I grew up in the atmosphere DD did. The grandma is trapped in her times and traditions of the family and taking it out on DD because she was born the wrong gender which in turn shaped her protectiveness over girls/women/wives. She’s internalized the realities of the lives of women in the countryside and women/girls who grew up in rigid traditional families. She’s made no secret of this because everyone calls her out on personalizing the patients’ situations. She’s totally like what NB said, rough on the outside but soft and sweet on the inside like durian.

I’m trying to not let it bother me cause I’m hoping we’ll get more DD/NB in the rest of the episodes as she deals with having a baby around as shown in the ending credit. DD/NB are so cute. He’s trying to carry her in the previews and is having a hard time. NB is a great comic relief but also the understanding and patient soul that DD needs. I feel that the way they’ve built their relationship, it’s a deeper level of getting into feelings and vulnerabilities where as before LJX just ignored DD’s feelings due to his bias in perceiving her as a “strong women who doesn’t need help”. DD and NB have their flaws and help each other face them with patience. I’m waiting for when NB finally see his mom’s video.

CR/LJX relationship to me so far is currently superficial based on two common things: their ideas of family/children and their need to win over DD. He likes her because she is soft and vulnerable; needs his attention and protection which is a typical view of a traditional male. However, I feel like CR is holding back with LYX compared with her relationship with her ex-husband. She hasn’t confided in LYX about her concerns with Dr. Huang but in the previews, DD is the help she gets when Dr. Huang is in trouble. Maybe, deep down, she knows LYX’s traditional views on women and relationships sucks?? I think if they do end up together in the end, it will only last if LYX faces his issues. CR may be naive but she loves herself more as we’ve seen when she divorced her husband. Maybe LYX will really change if he’s about to loose CR?
