Agree, it’s more about her current actions. The one he cares about the most keeping such a huge secret from him. And of course we get the wacko asst. trying to take advantage of the situation.

Based on the previews, she still held onto hope after packing and wanted to talk things out like her mom advised. When he finally answered, it was to meet and break up without even mentioning his father’s death. It seems she doesn’t find out till a few episodes later. They both screwed it up for lack of communication…typical of dramas.

XiaoRan did call him. He wasn’t answering her calls. That’s why she gave up and packed her stuff. She kept waiting but he wasn’t answering her calls nor was he calling her. For me I don’t blame him for staying and prioritizing his family or for even carrying Fei’er out of the wedding. It’s his lack of communication when it comes to sharing the bad stuff that is happening. I get that he wants to protect her and feels guilty that he can’t even give her his company which is really all she wants but keeping everything from her is not the answer.

I would be tired too in such a twisted relationship like the novel. I thought it was a mistranslation about the abortion and was looking to see if she had a miscarriage until I saw that she didn’t want a baby to be what holds him with her.

I was worried about that after seeing the “reunited after 7 years” clip. Wasn’t sure if it was a hint at a long breakup or a long distance relationship for her career goals. Then realized it was talking about the actors reuniting after acting together in My Sunshine as the younger version of the leads.

That’s what the ep34 previews look like…she figures out who the kid her dad saved was and asked LB about what happens if secrets come out after getting together with someone. Of course LB gives an answer about no forgiveness. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Perception hurts no matter how much trust you have and everyone around keeps perceiving that ML is still carrying a torch for 2FL. His brother annoyed me when he assumed ML was going back to 2FL since the wedding was ruined.

I thought it was also twisted because the Secretary was 2FL’s look-alike cousin that he was kind of attracted to before FL broke up with him and he realized his love. 🤦🏻‍♀️

There’s subs on the app…in ep 26 preview FL gets upset at ML cause he wants to put them on pause again…cause of threats from Zhao so I think they kind of get back together when he’s hurt but not fully.

In the novel, they go through a couple of break ups, one that lasts 2 years and the final one that lasts a few months. The drama is different since they threw in business rivalry and such so it’ll last longer. Based on previews, I think till ep 24/25 when she overhears Zhao and realizes his family events.

I don’t think the issue is ML not prioritizing FL. Like others, I think it’s the lack of communication. Also the noble idiocy trope…not communicating to protect FL.

Agree, they have one of those friendships where it’s always 2FL that is needy and both take care of her. It’s shown in all the flashbacks to include their first meeting in school. FL has always taken care of herself and everyone around her, like including ML as part of her family dinners. They’ve drawn the line withSFL after the wedding incident. 2FL just needs to get herself together which won’t be until later.

It’s noble idiocy…common drama trope. He doesn’t want FL to suffer through the crap he’s going to have to deal with so he’s just saying that.

I get annoyed at MLs like that because it always leads to misunderstandings. Based on the previews for next week, he really hides everything that happens in Hulu from her.

The drama is different from the novel when it comes to the business, family, and wedding. In the novel it was Fei’er’s cousin that he walks down the isle as part of the wedding party and Fei’er’s marriage to Zhou guys moves forward. ML’s dad is alive and them and Zhou guy didn’t have issues? I used google translate so sometimes context is off. It seems that FL also had an abortion when they broke up the first time?

I hope they at least keep the wedding and kids ending.

Regarding the credit card thing, that’s normal in all the C-Dramas. It’s a bank card to whatever amount they have in that account. I’ve seen it done so many times where a drama character hands a bank card and said, “here’s $100K on this card, take i as payment, the PIN number isXXX” or something like that.

That came to mind when she ignored all of YB’s suggestions about the $500K contract. 🤦🏻‍♀️
