Unique, Interesting, & Charming
The lighting, music, & overall tone are my favorite aspects. This show feels neo retro and reminds me of a 80's or 90's reminiscence show. It kind of reminded me of the first season of Stranger Things in that sense (lighting and nostalgic tone).I came into this show with little expectations, but was greatly surprised. The show seems like a simple alien show, but there's so much more to it. There's a huge focus on friendship, healthy relationships, and growth. I loved seeing Mew's and Errg's friendship, it was so beautiful (those foreheads touches were so endearing). Nannon is adorable and charming as always, even if his acting is lacking at times. The romance is great and for once the love triangle didn't totally infuriate me. It was handled in such a deeply emotional and mature way (plus some great chemistry).
The plot itself can be lacking, but there are many interesting and unique plot points along with some twists I totally didn't expect. It's a very cute story with aliens/supernatural elements and youthful relationships.

I honestly love the plot of this and the cast. I thought Tofu was adorable and he's a great actor. What I didn't like about this was the ending. From the beginning we knew that he would have to leave, but I thought maybe there would be a way around that. I didn't like that they made the viewers more familiar with Tofu and to care more deeply for him. He was sweet and I could obviously tell that he truly liked her, but I dislike that she didn't end up with him. I love Ken and I enjoy watching him act, but it was a stereotypical character and I wish that he would've been the second male lead instead. Was this review helpful to you?

Something Special
I don't typically write reviews, but I want to write this so that I can remember how much I truly enjoyed this show. I completely fell in love with the characters and the story. Each character has so many dimensions and these small details are given to each character.Li Xun- In the beginning of the show, he always turns his head towards the sun. He closes his eyes and just feels the sunlight. Later on, we find out that when his mother was in the hospital for cancer, she loved to stand by the window. She loved to feel the sun on her face and because of that Li Xun's goal was to let his mother just at least one more day so that she could feel the sun on her face even one more time. After she passed, Lin Xun feels the sun in place of his mother. Instead of his character simply going through a huge incident and moving on, he continues to feel the weight of her death and simply feels the sun in place of his mother. I also loved the fact that his lighter was not a purposeful gift. His father died when he was still a child and one day he randomly found the lighter. He uses the lighter throughout the entire show, because it's like an extension of him, it never truly leaves him. I love when there will be low audio of the lighter cap coming on and off even when it doesn't show him messing with the lighter.
Zhu Yun- The huge incident of seeing Li Xun almost murder someone and being unable to move or doing anything about it, didn't just go away. The shock of seeing him doing that and them him leaving her, made her begin to have depression. I do wish that would've been explored a bit more, but I love that they didn't have her character go through such a huge event and be totally fine.
Other little character details I enjoyed
Gao-his love of oranges. You can see him eating them all throughout the show, even in the background. At the end, those oranges are a sign of hope for him to live after his surgery. I also loved how it showed step by step how he turned into someone so twisted.
Li Lan-Buying a doll for her barely mentioned child.
How each period of our lives are spent surrounded by others. There will be people that change and people that stay the same. There will people that leave you out of choice and those that stay by you. With each period, you can start friendships and relationships, but not all of them will continue and that's not necessarily bad. You can have close classmates, lose them, then have good coworkers, then eventually lose them. Throughout it all, life changes and people change. You can become warmer or colder and that's up to you.

When love is continuous
This show is one of the most mature and thoughtful romances I've ever seen. The interactions with the leads are full of chemistry. It's not like a fire that quickly burns out, but it's a consistent simmer that seems to never fade. The leads have so much care for each as they go from strangers to friends to lovers to partners for the future. There's some sort of magic that the two hold. The dialogue is extremely well written, emotional, and their conversations and feelings are communicated so well throughout the entire series. It's not very often that you watch a fictional romance and it feels more than a 2D storyline. This series felt like a 4D piece of someone's life. Their story doesn't end with the last episode, it's a continuous story just as life is a continuous story.I'd like to end my review with some of the lines used in the proposal scene. I've never cried at such scenes as they typically feel cheesy, overdramatic, and feel like a finale to what should be the start to a new chapter. Rather than the show end with a proposal, it ended with them going out for a midnight dinner talking like normal. Their normalcy is a form of love and that's what its magical.
"Love is not a noun, it's a verb."
"Romance isn't about actions, it's about us."
"Falling in love with you is a continuous process."
"Do you want to build a world that belongs to us?"

Why do I no longer feel human? Do I deserve to feel this way?
This show has left a tear in my heart. Everything was so beautifully written. What does it mean to be human? Are we allowed to feel sadness, rage, or happiness? What gives us the right to do so?Each character had their own sense of loneliness. Some characters went on with life living with that loneliness, while others fell into the darkness. Some characters chose death, some chose to ignore it, and others chose to face it and slowly learn. What does death mean? What does life mean? "Life without an illusion is not living." Waking up from a dream is what makes your reality.
This drama had some of the best most complex yet simple dialogue I've ever seen. The amount of care, thought, and wisdom in this series was amazing. If you want to gain a new perspective on life, then please watch this beautiful story unfold.
The relationship between the leads was so deep. It wasn't a romance, a friendship, or set of strangers, it was a bit of everything. They were connected by emotional intimacy and words, by souls. Being without each other made them less lonely. It was like they were lonely together, all alone, but alone together. Truly beautiful is every meaning of the word.
The father was also such a beautiful character with so much meaning. He brought some much love to the characters.
All I know is that this drama will stick with me for a really long time. I feel like it has created a scar on my heart; one that's sad but beautiful. In a few years, once I've reached a different point in my life, I'd like to come back and watch this with a new perspective. Maybe I'll view the drama a different way and learn something new.
