Nope. I am happy that Pei Zhen will go out into the world and be his own man, and not repeat the mistakes of his…
Bravo. Excellent background color for us westerners. I'll look forward to reading your links. Haven't seen finale yet.
Does acceptable Confucian corporal punishment include golf clubs across face? I saw a golf club being used on an employee in first ep of a Kdrama, I dropped it.
I agree completely. How can you blame a 6 yo kid for something a dad did twenty years ago, especially when the…
I'm always amazed when these people open the door--especially late at night--without even saying "Who's there?" or have a peephole. It also amazes me that mom just waltzes in son's apt-- she has the passcode? The parents in C and K dramas are always just barging in randomly....no boundaries, no privacy for the relatives.
Sorry but her and her parents are being dumb. It’s not his fault that the accident happened. He was only a kid…
I agree completely. How can you blame a 6 yo kid for something a dad did twenty years ago, especially when the kid is now an amazing adult? And to be so upset that you run out of the house at midnight in front of a car? What hysterics these people are.
Can we talk about the mini skirt the supposed "blind date" (but really engaged friend) was wearing? Could it have been any higher? When she sat down, I was afraid Victoria's Secret wouldn't be secret any longer, poor ML sitting across from her, I noticed she changed to "side saddle" later...good grief.
And I'm thankful for our sensible FL, the two moms are an hysteric and a passive, glad the current generation is less helpless and man-dependent. But to give credit where due, Ms. Medicated mom did do a good job of keeping FL at the apt a bit longer so that our hero could introduce her.
Just finished 22 and 23, the acting was good before this, the "Break up" episodes showed both their skills to the max, they both. knocked it out of the park. I'm in awe. Kudos to the director for not letting either of them get too emotional, the previous generation gave us enough of that.
I’m wondering whether it’s a product placement. There’s also lots of luxury designer products on this show.…
I would think it's PPL. Jewelry often uses PPL, QoT had super expensive Bulgari pieces, they got pricier as the ratings went up lol. Odd tho that the Hermes scarf had no logo, just the trademarked orange color box. You often see Chanel misspelled w an extra N or spelled Chanal.
fr, since the first few episodes we knew that trope was coming up 😭
She was pretty trashy. For him to have given her that romantic hope he obvi showed no boundaries. That's another reason why the wife would have been so quick to jettison him. Who's he even "emotionally" cheating with as practically a newlywed? Such a low person. Total turn-off.
Great analysis. I was talking to another MDL user about this (Grumpy Witch) and she phrased it perfectly saying…
Re: his entrapment, the phrase "Golden Handcuffs" comes to mind. I was wondering if he could even just move out and get another job? No other biz would likely want to cross evil dad. He's so trapped, as you said. And these chaebol types don't seem to have a lot of savings, their worth tied up in privately held stocks.... The word "lifeline" is a good one. That minimal act of kindness rocked his empty world.

Yes! Agree. It's making me ponder how ML escaped this emptiness, considering same maternal void....maybe bc he had father's love for "formative" years? I would think ML would def have some mommy issues, wonder if that will show up at all in future episodes...I agree about Dai Xu, he so good. And he's as handsome as ML in a totally dif way...SML's whole life has been transactional for sure, with those parents?!
SML feelings for FL seem genuine, he doesn't really register how inappropriate such a pricey gift is for a work associate, not to mention oblivious to her obvious disinterest....he appears somewhat bewildered at his seemingly genuine feelings as well. He's lost when it comes to non transactional dealings, it's a world foreign to his upbringing. And I agree, heartbreaking to see how much value he sets on that band-aid. That he placed in a special box in a closet filled w luxury goods.
