In my opinion, HL is the best of this genre. Hoping that future modern cdramas will take notes.

No hate but I thought he should’ve pulled the plug a long time ago. The father was in a coma and it didn’t seem like he could’ve recover. He was struggling with hospital bills and paying off the psycho so it’s perfectly understandable if he did it.

Some people will say anything to cancel this show. It was such a reach and a lie. I really don’t understand them, Hidden Love is actually getting people INTERESTED in modern cdrama. This is a very good thing for the Chinese film industry! I for one is tired of ppl always making fun of how cringy modern cdramas are.

They didn’t have money for a stylist and wardrobe so most of her clothes that she wore were her own and she asked some of her sponsors for some too!! I’m actually so glad because cdramas are KNOWN for dressing their leads so cringy.

Best ending EVER.

I’m not sure but I believe if they pay some sort of tax, they can have more than one child.

If you’re into this genre, you’re in for a treat. However, if you’re into a more complex storyline, this might not be right for you.

For most of us, this drama is the best of this genre - everything from the acting, chemistry, story, cinematography and styling is just stunning. If you decide to see for yourself, watch it for what it is. A simple story of first love, self love, friendship, family and healing.

I was like that once. I always try to finish a drama even if it wasn’t to my liking. Now I want my time back! However, in this case - yes it gets better. Keep on going!

My take on her maturity is this - in the drama, we mostly saw her with her crush at age 17. I don’t know about you, but when I was young and saw my crush - my whole demeanor changed and I turn awkwardly shy. Although she’s an introvert by nature, she acts pretty natural with her friends - you see that when she rejected the dude that confessed to her. When she met the ML at age 14, she did not have a crush on him so she was more natural.

Haha!! Wow! I didn’t even know there was an issue with him being cast as Sang Yan. I thought he nailed it.

Is it Schindler's List? No. Do people still love Hidden Love? Yassss!

Since you think MDL can no longer be trusted, maybe don’t use it as a gauge? It sounds like you’re so agitated so why put yourself through that - and to actually finish the whole drama. Wow, that’s dedication. Not everyone like the same thing and it’s absolutely fine. Maybe find another genre if you’re into complexity.

Kdramas - Sky Castle or Penthouse might be up your speed.

The beginning of the story was sweet and you’re not suppose to feel like he’s into her. It focused on a teenager’s one sided love and their history together. The fun starts when she’s in university and an adult. She matures into a beautiful, confident woman.

Right. I was curious about the high ratings. I’ve never seen or watched any shows by those actors and actresses either so I went in neutral. It really wasn’t anything special..

Hi, thanks for the comment! I was actually dreading the comment section and was surprised that some had the same reaction. I decided to watch this drama because it’s by the same author as Hidden Love and the ratings is the same as Nirvana in Fire. HL was a simple story but the chemistry really elevated it so I thought maybe this drama also had the right formula to make something simple into something magical.

Yes! I often tell my daughter to NEVER get so caught up in a boy that you lose self respect for yourself!

Did you watch Hidden Love? Same author but the FL is well written.
