See, here’s the thing - while he absolutely need to be guarded because of his background, a normal wealthy person that see through her lies would either not go forward with the relationship or straight up tell her it’s a marriage contract.

I think there was no need for him to play along while collecting evidence to control her. In my opinion he’s spoiled and manipulative. He has to work on that and this is a big part of the plot as well.

A part of it is responsibility because she is the sister of someone beloved and Haochen’s aunt. Also, his father did invest a lot on his company.

I think she needed to quit the financial reporter job. At first she had no idea if she got it because of Haoming’s influence but later found out it was indeed all the sponsorships he gave them.
