I see a lot of comments saying they don't understand why tving (production) split it into 2 parts, but that's…
They earn money from foreigners too. Do you think Viki, VIU, etc. broadcast the drama for free? No, they pay huge licensing fees to CJ ENM.
CJ Corporation is one the largest company in Korea. It's a bigger company than Netflix. Not some small thing.
They own the TV channels tvN, OCN, Mnet, the OTT TVING, the CGV cinemas, Studio Dragon which is one of the biggest drama producing company (contracted by Netflix multiples times to produce dramas) as well as many businesses in other areas (food, logistic, etc.).
I don't like how they split "Artist" performances in 2 episodes.
I understood for"K vs G Battle" and "Dual Position Battle" because there was a lot of groups, so no choice, but here they could have fitted all 5 in a 2h30 episode. It would have been more fair.
There was a lot of potential (thriller, bromance) but the story is too oriented "police and duty". It makes the story boring. Nothing unexpected happen, and the main lead always act as a stiff police officer.
You'd expect some bromance but there is close to none. Main lead basically just tries to catch 2nd main lead (supposedly his former best friend) like any other random criminal.
I guess they did that so it pass censorship "the main character must not be morally tainted".
First 2 episodes were a bit slow, but from episode 3 it gets really good.
When this drama was announced, I was afraid there would be too much action, and not enough focus on the psychology of students but the balance is very good and there are emotional scenes.
He didn't stand out much in any of his performances. He's not funny nor talented. Also, he has a bad, apathetical attitude.
"We don't need to do our best for the performance, if we're too bad the production will manage to make it looks okay" Then, proceed to shit on and blame Woongki who did 80% of the work by himself because Shuaibo didn't even want to try.
At least Takuto is motivated and trying his best, unlike him!
I've been thinking about the final group name. The show's description on the official website says: "Boys Planet presents the potential of boys from all around the world. When the two worlds of K-Group and G-Group collide, ONE WORLD is born. K-Pop Boy Group audition project decided and produced only by Korean and global fans."
Considering this, do you think there's a possibility that "ONE WORLD" could be the chosen name for the final group? It contains the "I / 1 / One" element often found in Produce/Planet show group names, and the way it's capitalized in the description might hint at it being a proper noun. Moreover, it seems to suit the "global group" concept of the show.
How can this show be aired and be popular after 2019 scandal with Mnet faking and manipulating votes in their…
You know, Mnet and it's parent company CJ ENM never got sued for that, the show producers did under the reason "obstruction of business" (obstructing Mnet's business).
Officially, Mnet did nothing wrong, the individual producers made this choice of rigging alone (officialy, the reality is probably very different lol).
As for why people keep watching, simply because they're the only channel making interesting and thrilling survival shows. Chinese ones were great too but got banned by the chinese government.

They never show partial ranking one day before end of voting because it would spoil the elimination.

I dropped at episode 10. Maybe it improves after.
Just curious if I should start 2 shows at the same time.

And 7, 8, 9, 10 on the 21st (it's a two part series).
No Idea why Viki has only released 1 when 6 are up on "unofficial" websites.
Also I read somewhere that VIU will release 3 episodes today and 3 tomorrow with subs.

Love Killa was ok but a bit underwhelming.
