Synopsis - At 17, Zhan Wang returns from Beijing to his hometown, carrying a secret diagnosis of terminal brain cancer. There, he meets Xu Yuan, also 17 — a top student who has been branded by the entire town as a child of misfortune. Both have been abandoned by fate, yet they crash into each other's lives with devastating force. Will their relationship bear a tragedy or a miracle?
I’m not convinced by the acting so far. I don’t really feel any attachment to the characters or emotional connection with them. The storytelling also feels a bit too fast. The first episodes were confusing.
I think I’m going to pause this one and come back to it once all the episodes have aired.
By the way, I strongly recommend the other Chinese BL, Lost to You, which is currently airing. It doesn’t seem to have an MDL page yet (I just requested for it to be added). So far I am more hooked by it than by Double Helix.
I love Jihoon as an actor, but I’ll pass on this. This drama somehow managed to combine every genre I can’t stand: comedy, military, food, fantasy... I already hesitate to watch a drama when there’s just one of those, so all four? Absolutely not.
It’s very good so far, but not quite what I expected. I thought the airport aspect would be more central to the show. It seems like the airport setting only plays a significant role in episode 1, and after that we might not hear about it again, the rest may just turn into a more typical Korean thriller. Too bad, because I really liked the airport element; it felt quite original.
As a French person, I laughed so much at this article… the writer clearly has zero understanding of France and French newspapers.
The article about Zhang Linghe is not even in the printed version or on the main website. It’s published on “Alt Selection,” which is basically a kind of Asian-culture blog with only stuff about asian drama, movies and music.
Also, Ouest-France is a local newspaper that mainly deals with local news. It’s not influential outside the west of France. Also it is mainly old people that read it, not the kind to watch asian stuff...
Actually, Chinese actors are quite unknown in France, even the very popular ones in China. I think the only Chinese actor a random French person would know is Jackie Chan.
Whoever says he's a bad actor watched one show that had a crappy script and judged off of nothing. Maybe romance…
I mean, even if he did okay in a few non-romance dramas, I still don’t get why he gets so many main roles. His acting isn’t impressive enough to warrant that many leading parts.

It’s one of those dramas where you need three days to process everything after finishing it.
The story was really sad and suspenseful, and I grew very attached to the characters.
No idea why I waited until 2026 to watch this masterpiece!
The plots twist were very well donne. And figuring out who is who in the past was quite the riddle.
I highly recommend the jdrama "A Suffocatingly Lonely Death (2024)" if you liked Blind. Story is quite similar with a lot of plot twists too.
Any other suggestion for similar stuff?
The cliffhanger ending and the show’s unexpected popularity mean there’s really no reason not to make one.
It reminded me of the Japanese "The werewolf game" movie series, but much better as the drama format allows to give more depth to the characters.
