Yoon Kye Sang and Yuna deserve awards as best actor and best actress for this drama. Their performances were top-notch. I cried toward the entire last scene. If they don't screw up the ending next week, it will be a 10 rating from me.

Wow... I don't know... the sub is terrible. If you want to introduce them to Asian/Chinese dramas, better recommend them something shorter, well subbed, and within their genre preferences. If this were my first drama, probably the sub would discourage me. But after years watching Cdramas I'm kinda get used to the bad sub/tropes/censorship, etc.

I didn't make a connection between the emperor's love story and the old grudge before. Now that you said it, I wonder if the poison/antidote is the master's scheme all along, not Yin Xiao's? Think about it, from whom did Yin Xiao learn about the amnesia potion and the poison antidote if not from the master, since he was also sent to the school at a young age? Now that the master knew that Jiu Ling had been betrothed to Rong Yu, she probably wanted to retaliate against Rong Yu's uncle/the Astrology Department using the poison.

Jiu Ling had been concocting an antidote to cure Rong Yu for 4 years based on Yin Xiao's recipe but still didn't work. She wrote a letter to Ren Yin Xiao to come and help her. But he's house arrest by his enemies??? (I don't understand the convo between him and the soldiers)

I have a feeling once Jiu Ling hears that Yin Xiao is on house arrest she will come and free him, so he can help her make the antidote.

Also, what's up with the old grudge between Jiu Ling's master and Rong Yu's uncle, that both parties don't want Rong Yu to be cured by the master?
