The synopsis provided by Irozoku is far more interesting (and that what makes me want to watch it):

Kuga Ichiro (Sano Hayato) is a struggling manga artist. After the death of his father, he spends his days drawing manga to support his younger sister Machi (Koyama Sae) and younger brother Fumio (Ishizuka Rikuto). One day, a beautiful and mysterious lady Goshiki Shiori (Yagi Rikako) appears and becomes Ichiro’s temporary assistant because she admires his manga. With her help, Ichiro escapes a last-minute deadline crisis, but when Ichiro notices a thorn-like object protruding from Shiori’s body while she was asleep, he touches it and the work room transforms into outer space! She then tells him that she’s the royal princess of a certain island, and that by touching her thorn, he has entered into a marriage contract with her.

For some odd reason the camera seems focused a lot on the secretary guy.

It's explained above by LC: "Tanman is someone who will be your substitute or do something in your place. Tan comes from the Thai word แทน (thaaen) pronounced "tan" which means to substitute, replace."

Storywise unrelated. Only both dramas are adapted from novels written by the same author Piyaphon Sakkasem.

I'm not disappointed, but I agree with you Zheng Ye Cheng doesn't look right to be the Chang Yuan. He looks too soft/gentle/nice. Shouldn't a dragon look scary and mean?

I'm surprised too with He Yuan Ting and the consort. I thought Chinese dramas make characters who do bad stuff get punishments either in prison, death, or anything else, to pass the review. Even if they're the main characters. In the last episode I feel like watching a Thai drama with tons of forgiveness.

Cannot tell since it's only Ep 2. They are not a couple yet. She just lost her father and he still goofs around. But they're long-time acquaintances, now still more like a brother-sister relationship, although his aunt says she wants him to marry FL. She's engaged to his brother.

Surprisingly the cinematography is really good.

In some shots/angles, the leading actress looks like Yang Mi.

Ending of Ep 23: Please don't kill that guy, I will be extremely disappointed!!! Unlike the others, she's practically alone... 🙏 😭

It's a Thai corny joke, the more you watch lakorn the more you see jokes like that. Probably their dialogue is in the novel, too. So far I know they're blood related since the cousin says "we share the same DNA". It seems she's a bratty character.

Promising start Ep 1. Good chemistry between ML and FL. I want to see them working together to find out what happened to her dad.

I don't remember seeing the leading actors, but the picturesque sceneries in the trailer are too beautiful to pass. I'll check it out.

I can't wait for the finale! Watched the official subbed trailers for Ep 20 to 24 seems a lot of angsty stuff going on. Damn, Tencent really spoiled us!

This is my thought up to Ep 23. I think I know what happened. As you said, Qin Li dating Momo in the past and then breaking up with her for Yi Fei are sadly realistic things that happen in a relationship. I don't think he already marries Yi Fei, I think when he and Momo were together, he two-timed her with Yi Fei. But the key is the USB. Since Momo tried to commit suicide after the breakup, I assume her brother Zheng Bao Song tried to find out about Qin Li and came across that USB owned by Qin Li's sister (perhaps he found it at the sorority meetings). Apparently, Qin Si harbors secrets she put in the USB. So the Qin siblings tried to give Zheng Bao Song money and take care of Momo while wanting the USB back.

I agree with you that Zheng Bao Song wanting to revenge on his sister is not justified. I don't think he wants money, he just wants to revenge. The Qin siblings are just afraid of their secrets being revealed.
