Hi Chibi,First of all, I apologize if there is anyone, who did such analysis in the F4TBOF comment section, who…
No worries, I already thought about the possibility people may protest about the in-depth analysis or my opinion on the in-depth analysis, so I got it covered in a disclaimer ;D. It's all good!
I'm just being honest, especially with the characterization Thyme as being problematic and will be a problem in the future if there is not enough change. I think with other F4 members they are just rich spoiled brats. There is nothing wrong with the characterization of Gorya as she's more mature than kids her age. However, imho no matter how strong the FL is, if there is no changes from the weak/immature/bad ML to the opposite it won't be good to the their relationship. That's the problem of domestic/spousal abuse because a good girl dating a bad boy with an idea that she will change the guy but he never changes.
I don't watch LtN so I don't know the content/story, but if you need my input of your article feel free to send me a DM ;D
I saw other versions shows the narration of the others too, but their characterizations are not deep. I only see…
I never like the competition challenged by ML for Second ML and FL to do. I think that's completely weird. especially when ML's sister joins in as the judge. But it's seems in every version and I'm curious how Thai will do that part.
I don't mind if it takes time for FL to confess to ML. It's not draggy, she is not wishy washy or plays hard to get, but because of circumstances: social status differences, MIL disapproval, arranged engagement (has to marry same social level), and ML's old character.
I saw in the official trailer, Gorya crying while being hugged by Ren, and in the concept trailer when stressed out Ren carries unconscious Gorya in the rain. I wonder which events will that be...
Sorry I think I forgot about the girl who was dragged by Tsukasa not his fiancee but FL's school friend.
I think near the end the author is just trying to milk profit from the popularity of the manga with unnecessary side stories, since I don't think the HYD 2 reaches the same popularity? I think the Japanese HYD movie (the 3rd of the trilogy) is completely unnecessary. I prefer the end like BOF where the characters grew up and have careers when ML proposes.
Yes, the interview with the director is perfect. I actually wrote in the article that he directed my first ever Thai drama Gasohug (that started my journey in lakornland), also my favorite Thai drama The Gifted. But I took the info out of the article cos I thought it's too long ;D
I watched till ep 5 too. Have you watched other versions before or okay with a bit spoiler? I will tell you why…
Have you ever thought that Thyme and Gorya fighting is actually unusual for their viewers (F4 and schoolmates)? Because they are so used to seeing Thyme being mean to the students and the whole school are scared of him? There is a closeness between Thyme and Gorya that outsiders don't understand, like they are no longer strangers?
"Just don't read the drama comments. It's full of in-depth character, episode-by-episode, or version compare/contrast…
Hi Chibi,
First of all, I apologize if there is anyone, who did such analysis in the F4TBOF comment section, who got offended with what I suggested for people not to read the drama comments. Please let me know I will DM them or they can DM me with their grievances.
When I was writing this article, I didn't look down, neither had any intention to be sarcastic with any in-depth analysis I read in the comment section. On the opposite, I was actually amazed how you guys still remember the details and event sequences of each version. Meanwhile, having watched hundreds of romance/romcom dramas, I have blurry memory on HYD that may mess-up the details and confuse people if I take part in such analysis.
This article is actually the most challenging of all CW articles I wrote, because not only that HYD is a super popular story for about 30 years, it also has a lot of lovers as well as haters. For weeks I was contemplating how I should write this article to approach the readers. Therefore, since the readers can be complete newbies or never watched any HYD version before, I placed myself in their shoes and advise them not to read the in-depth comments because if I were them I will be confused and turned off with so many names. Imagine you try to watch a Chinese historical dramas for the first time, and you see the characters have Japanese/Korean/Chinese/Thai names. It's like they go to four different life times ;D
I watched till ep 5 too. Have you watched other versions before or okay with a bit spoiler? I will tell you why…
I remember in BOF, Ren's Korean character Ji Hoo comes back from France broken-hearted and becomes 'strange', he hangs out with Yi Jung ("Kavin") and Woo Bin ("MJ") at the bar with girls and the two find him odd cos he never done that before. That's the same with F4TBOF preview for Ep 6 when they say that "Ren has changed".
I'm just curious how Thyme will handle Ren flirting with Gorya right in front of him (in the preview)... but it's not necessarily Ren's fault either. I just want to be logical not team with anyone. If Kavin and MJ know Gorya had a crush for Ren, I'm pretty sure Ren knows it too that she had a crush on him but at that time in his mind was only Mira. Though Ren may saw all gossips from social media about Thyme and Gorya's date announcement, he may not know that Thyme is serious with Gorya. Cos when Kavin and MJ realize that Thyme is serious, they try to solve the problem by talking to Kaning secretly (by inviting her for meal at Kavin's place after the shop is closed). And the scene with Thyme and Gorya at the storage room is not leaked yet. So it makes sense Ren doesn't have any clue about the progress of Thyme and Gorya relationship. Besides, in a sense Gorya is not in a relationship with Thyme. She hasn't give the consent to be his gf. She refused that the amusement park event was a real date and didn't acknowledge herself as his girlfriend when Thyme announced it two times, lol.
What kind of date is "exhausting" and "not at all what's expected". 🤨That's such a ambigous way to say it (I…
Oh girl, you really have a dirty mind, mwahaha! I swear, I didn't even think about it when I made the last GIF and put it in the end of the article. I just wanted to lure the readers' curiosity for the last time, using their characters' own dialogues.
But now that I think about it, Thyme does say suggestive things the innocent ways. I suspect the screenwriters wanted to make his character like that, since he's supposedly the most unexperienced of F4 boys when comes to romance. He does smile after saying the "exhausting" word. Now what you say about the storage room scene? LOL
I saw other versions shows the narration of the others too, but their characterizations are not deep. I only see…
Sorry, I was away the whole day for IRL activities yesterday and didn't have a chance to reply. So, in the manga there is never any love triangle going on? Not the first one when Tsukushi has a crush to Rui, but the one that Rui actually falls for Tsukushi. I don't read the manga neither watched the first adaptation, which is in my opinion is the Tw one not the J movie. Then it appears the Tw version gave an idea for the rest of the versions to add in the love triangle? The earliest version I watched is the J trilogy and I remember that Rui and Tsukushi agree to try dating and she picked a dress etc for her first date thinking that she has to appear nice. Tsukasa drags his fiancee to follow them and he is angry when seeing Tsukushi looking so pretty dressing up while dating Rui, meanwhile with Tsukasa she just appear as she is. LOL
When news of F4 first came out I remember I let out a very loud scoff and said "Not another one". But my boy Win…
AHA! I got you! Yes,... you need to support Win by watching him LOL! Does he have a dimple or two?
If you want to wait until it's over, I suggest you to read some reviews. And the ending spoiler, if you want a certain ending. Did you watch any version? If you did, I suggest you NOT to read all spoilers. Because the fun thing is being surprised by the dialogues or small events that aren't in the original manga or other versions. Let me give you an example. The 3 screens put together about the interview with Kavin is not in any version I watched. I was eating when I watched that interview scene and anxiously waiting for an upcoming important scene following the interview. When Kavin says "... and we are not that good looking..." I actually burst out laughing and spilled my food. That kind of surprise, you know... ;D
