I think Kdrama producers have tried to make new dramas unique and different than previous ones, due to pickier and more demanding Kdrama audiences. But without solid writing they can end up to be messy. But I suggest you to also binge-watch Cdramas after they're finished because the ending can be disappointing. The cause is tight government censorship. Unlike Kdramas, you may see the similar plot lines in Cdramas since the producers may pick a safer route but making dramas similar to the previous ones that passed censorship. I think the ending is just so clever, whoever wrote the script (this is not based on a novel, right?). By making it an OE, audiences who are romantic have POVs that they will end up together (promising last scene at the restaurant). The ones who are into more justice are satisfied they don't end up together as a couple but 'friend' (same, last scene where she invited her friends to eat at the restaurant).

oh yeah... the first synopsis says SXD is an impostor but she is actually not. That one was taken from VIKI synopsis too! So when I started the drama I was actually confused cos it's different than the synopsis

Unfortunately in this drama the Chinese government PPL (my other word for naming their propaganda) is put after the climax that diminishes the overall watching satisfaction, no matter if it's skipable or not. IMO It should've put in the middle, right after the couple went to visit the school for the first time, for example. It will still drag but in the middle and picks up again until the climax near the end (second last episode) where viewers get to know the whole story and still be satisfied with it.
