What a cracking little Drama! if I were to categorise it, it would be as China's 'Rain man'. The main leads are two friends one is obviously autistic but brilliant at maths, the other is a student playboy who lives with his older butcher sister. The maths genius accidently discovers that the taxes of the province has been corrupt for 100 years making land owners richer and forcing peasents to sell their land to the landowners. Also involved is an oily sleezy lawyer who is on the side of the landowners. it can sometimes seem overwhelming when they are discussing the intricacies of taxes, but what is fascinating is watching the reactions of the vested interests as they realise their schemes are unravelling but some chracters are not what they seem and there are constant twist and turns right up to very end.
Episode 3, the prostitute they question at the Hotpot resteraunt, I have seen that actress in another drama. Any idea what her name is, she doesn't seem to appear in the cast list.
I just finished rewatching this drama and absolutely loved it!The first time I watched it, I was thrown off by…
That's the strength of this drama, the depth of the story. no scene is superficial, every little nuance is essential to the story. A rewatch is like opening a secret door to a hidden room.
I would suggest that this is probably the best modern cdrama. it isn't fast paced, its about taking time to find what is important in life and valuing it.
Have not seen this one, but I like the story of the kunning palace (however it is not this long)
There is no rebirth like Kumming palace. Minglan is like no other FL in cdrama, she has learned to survive by not being seen and wants nothing more than to make a good marriage and live a quiet life but people keep trying to involve her in their plots and schemes. She turns the tables on them effortlessly, and they have no idea who was responsible or how they did it.

She was the nasty Air Stewardess in Flight to You. I was racking me brains about where I had seen her before!
How is that not a happy ending?
