ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS DRAMA!!!!!!! I gave it a 9.5 instead of a 10 because we didn't get to see anything about them after they won at the end - like an epilogue.
I loved how once Chen Yan Yun knew he wanted her; he wasted no time and pursued her. Also, how on EARTH did the wedding night pass censorship?
The child emperor is so smart. Even though he's young, he's very intelligent, has good instincts (especially when choosing confidants) and remarkable judgment. Oh, my poor Ye Xian. I loved his character development especially after the incident where he whipped her (I'd almost written him off because of that) I cried so much when he died and the aftereffects of his death (especially when Chen Yan Yun said "We won, this victory belongs to you" while also holding his right hand man Chen Yi who died as well).
Ok drama. i really struggled to watch from episode 22 onwards, it got so bad i was watching in 2.25x speed. The last 2 episodes were NOT necessary - if they wanted to do a half episode on their happy life they should have removed the second to last episode (that was the most unnecessary one).
Eldest couple pissed me off. Can't believe they had his wife begging and screaming over the dirtbag. He betrayed his wife TWICE!! And he kept breaking her heart over and over again with that annoying scheming Tao Yao.

China is censoring transmigration dramas now. Apparently it’s because people (especially those who suffer from mental health issues) were taking their own lives with the idea that they could transmigrate too, and China does not want to promote such ideology. So dramas are changing endings to align with censorship regulations. They did this with How Dare You (2026) as well.
Pretty dumb show tbh. I had to watch the last three episodes in 2x speed because it got boring- there was too much dragging and unnecessary plot lines/drama going on.
That villain Yuan Lang didn’t receive any punishment for his evil doing - they just let him off and he even got a promotion, lucky him!! Her sister Qiu Min also got the guy in the end and this pissed me off so much! I mean she did so much evil (including abandoning FL who was fighting for her life near the end) because she was jealous over a man! I’m not surprised though, because FL kept enabling, spoiling, pampering and ultimately forgiving her over and over again.
And then, despite being surrounded by people who conduct investigations for a living and even lead two investigative departments (ML and Yuan Lan) the FL is somehow always smarter than them and always finds/ figures out the most important/crucial clues in investigations (insert eye roll).
I love the ML’s voice, but damn his makeup team did him dirty!! His foundation DID NOT match his skin tone especially in contrast with his neck and it was so DISTRACTING. Nobody else seems to notice this?
This is so unfair!! I feel so bad for Dr Shin - he deserved much better, i wish he had found someone other than GBR. For the titular character of this show, the writer did him dirty!! I feel like screaming. Why did i waste my time watching this show if she was going to kill him off at the end? It would have been better if GBR didn't end up with anyone and Dr Sin was still alive.
Her reasoning for the brain swap was immensely stupid and ridiculous. I feel sorry for that baby as well - his mother cared more about her DEAD HALF-SISTER than him! And in the end HYJ got to eat his cake and have it - satisfying his obsession with Momo, marrying her and then discovering his true love for GBR, ultimately marrying GBR in Momo's body (don't forget the bonus with the children). I AM LIVID!!!!! (I want to give this show a 0 but i'll give it a 1 for Dr. Shin). Is there perhaps a Korean site/page where i can write this comment and the writer will see? She needs to know what i think of her and her writing.
We're officially done yaay!! Really good drama. I especially like the stories of the high school trainee, FL's sister, little boy and ML's father. I'm glad they didn't make ML lose his powers at the end (i HATE when dramas do this).
Like @general feihong-s wife said, i get this show is about promoting filial piety and whatnot, but MAN this was ridiculous. I HATE how we sort of glossed over and forgave Yun Shu for the evil shit she did in this show, even ensuring we saw her get her loving scholar (insert eyeroll).
But all in all, the resentment and anger between the Rong family members in this show is the GRANDMOTHER'S fault. I repeatedly said throughout the drama, that the real villain in this show is the grandmother. Imagine, she forced RSB to almost marry that imposter and she didn't feel sorry or apologise to anyone in the end. They basically all go on and continue to praise and follow the grandmother even though she was the most illogical person in this drama.
This show better not make me regret watching it. If GBR ends up with HYJ after everything then she is a BIG FOOL (i mean she is a fool anyway because she slept with him. Thought she said she was giving up on her feelings for HYJ?).
I'm shipping Dr Shin and GBR, because at least he is straightforward (and a little nuts) with everyone, not just her. Why does that spineless idiot get to have everything both girls (who both get pregnant, even though only one gives birth)? What about our poor Dr Shin?

Nothing else really concerns me except the hypocrisy. She finds the older man/younger woman trope predatory, but loooves (insert eyeroll) the older woman/ younger man romance. Selective blindness much? Ironically enough, she loves the CDrama The Double - bear in mind, when that show was filmed the ML was around 19-20 years and the FL was in her late 20s or early 30s. Original poster is probably projecting so just ignore her.
I watched this YEARS ago and really liked it. I decided to rewatch it yesterday and realised quite quickly that the initial like I had for this drama, was probably because my frontal lobe had not developed yet. All the characters (including FL) are quite unlikeable. From SML, to SFL, to FL's mother (her later attitude towards the ML was grating my nerves. I mean I get her initial resistance towards the ML, seeing as he was from the enemy camp and always plotting. But it irritated me when she sentenced him to death despite knowing most of the chaos that led to that particular scene was Chuchu's fault), and those two buffoons that are the personal servants of the ML and FL. The only likeable characters are ML (and that's only partially. He kept chasing her even though she betrayed him multiple times) and ML's parents. Why was everybody pardoning and excusing that vile Chuchu's treasonous and treacherous behaviour?
It's ironically funny how they found ways to get rid of his other wives/concubines in order to eventually leave her as the singular wife. I don't know what to call this, plot armour? - except in this case it's polygamy plot armour. It's also honestly quite unrealistic. Other than, it's quite an ok show. I mean it managed to hold my attention for 44 and 3/4 out of 45 episodes.
I tried to persevere, I really did, but I had to drop this drama at Ep27. The FL is one of the most unbearable characters I have ever watched. I can't stand her behavior and treatment of the ML, despite the fact that he has proved himself over and over. Oh, how I wish the roles reversed and she did the chasing for a little bit, just so she can get a taste of her own medicine. But that won't happen because the ML is a disgusting simp. EDIT: just finished How Dare You and I simply don't understand how anyone prefers this dumpster fire over that drama.
I loved this drama. I'm glad they kept it short, otherwise dragging it out in order to make the show longer, would have indeed spoiled it. I feel it might have been a bit emptier without the romance, so i think they should have developed the romantic connection between the two a bit more.
