Such a versatile and brilliant actor he is! His fierce and determined eyes as lawyer and prosecutor are hot but it's a whole different store when he smiles.....!!! His eyes are so beautiful. His straight face is too good. I'm hooked enough to see his 4 dramas consecutively
This was so good that my first thought in the last scene of ep 16 was, quickly check mdl if there's any news of Season 2. Well, they can definitely plan a season 2 and I would be up for it!
This was in my watchlist for a really long time. I decided to finally watch this as I was really craving for a law and court genre. I can't say Lawless Lawyer is purely unique concept but satisfied me thoroughly! Especially the court scenes.
Another thing that kept me hooked from start to end is Lee Joon Gi. I found myself repeating his scenes too frequently. I would say, he is not that greek god kinda handsome from scene 1 but the kind of actor that grew on me. Like his eyes, smile and acting was so brilliant. Ahh! I was almost screaming from excitement as he used to express with his eyes.
For the main couple, since Romance is not a focus, they had very nice chemistry. I was baffled when they suddenly kissed (and fvcked?) in ep 6(?), repeated the scene twice to check if I missed something but no, their relationship escalated quickly for me. Like I could understand ML's pov as he had know her for 18 yrs. But the girl was quick to develop romantic feelings. So when she left her dad's house, I expected them to live together and I would get sone more romance development but no.
This drama goes everywhere but nowhere, utterly disappointing and unsatisfactory for me. I watched this because of the court scene (where he gets off his seat and holds hands of suspect to check his hands) short that appeared in my yt. I was really excited and this was a kinda bullshit. I watched this during vacation so I kept watching on 1.5-2x speed. I kept hoping it will get better but nope!
The scenes keep jumping here and there. FL's character was questionable for me. The elder twin claimed he needed money and hinted itself because of younger twin, no? But then there's no clarification.
My problem was, lack of thrilling court scenes. I could accept no thrill but then they brushed off the cases, more likely because he is a judge. Also, that prosecutor needed to be behind the bars.
Rewatching this on weekend, Xie Yong'er and Wang Zhao final scene still gives me goosebumps and heartache. I should skip it next time for my sanity ðŸ˜
The title should be something like "all of us are going to die" cuz why do my precious characters keep dying? Even ML was poisoned and bed ridden, destined to die (that nameless person's vision or whatever it was)
This drama is clearly a sad and heart aching story wrapped up in all shits and giggles, rainbows and sunshine.
Breaks my heart when FL read ML's letter. Poor guy tried his best to survive for 15 yrs and then played at edge to look like someone who got transmigrated just two hours ago and keep up with FL
0.1 for Bei Zhou 0.1 for Xie Yong'er 0.1 for damñ censoring which doesn't allow the people to come back to their real world and have a perfect and complete HEA in modern world.
That's why the rating is 8.7 and not 9.0
/jk but I really wish they had some more screen time for modern HEA. Or else an epilogue / side story / season 2.

The novel chapter describes their meet in more details.
