I was watching the shorts of How Dare You and Unveil Jadewind and my mind went "what if they collaborate?" and came to check on mdl and feels like my wish was granted immediately 😭
I watched this on dailymotion so no comments and was like why is this so bland because it was second version for me and first was Huang Hao Wen's. I hope the couple have improved their chemistry in season 2.
The reason this remains #1 version in my heart is because the ML asks for FL's choice in a room where she felt like a outsider/leftover.
In all other versions, they consummate marriage quickly, here they built a solid emotional connection first.
I know two mature and married adults can definitely have desires and fvck real quick then work on to build feelings but I feel the flow in HHW's version is more clear and natural. It's like an ultra slow burn - both have a reserved and private vibe on themselves which they slowly melt. Other versions are comparatively advanced/quick slow burns.

Have you watched Xia Ning Jun's version? That's long and really good as well. If I remember correctly, Zhang Yi Lun's version have least screentime compared to all other versions but it's closure is really nice!
After watching this one, I started watching When The Phone Rings and I felt like Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin can try the role of Qin Nan and Ye Si Bei.
Si Bei was given hallucinogenic drugs and Chu Chu had only seen Fan Jiancheng giving some pills to Si Bei. He said, it's a hangover medicine and Chu Chu took the pill bottle from him. I came her from preview of ep 12 (at end of ep 11) just to check if anyone commented on that unnecessary drag of ex-fiance. Like ML already had enough anxiety about future so let the two slowly develop their HEA instead of adding another irritating character.
It's the one more episode at 5am drama for me 😂 Its hilarious and addictive. Got me laughing, rolling and kicking around. Especially ML romancing with the portrait, his staged confession that went wrong, FL checking CCTV of balcony/terrace after waking up in morning, episode 19 end and the one where ML & his sister's high school background is shown.
ML is pretty much a goofball. FL had her character in head, very much sober (about the contract relationship) but light-hearted. All characters are effortlessly funny but my favourite are ML's father and the two bodyguards.
Also, ML's father handled all serious issues in a lighthearted way. Like "fake couple? Imma make them real!" He adored and genuinely liked FL. I love how he appointed her as the President after she resigned.
Also, anyone knows the name of ML's sister? I felt like she's so pretty. Plus, she had great sibling chemistry with ML.
10/10 Just how mature, stable and experienced was the scriptwriter? This script is a rare gem in vertical dramas. The characters are so exceptionally written and were portrayed so well. Especially Shi Tong's. I love to watch Charon as the gentle, loving and caring husband. It's like a 2-time meal of everyday BUT Shi Tong's character is complex and she nailed it! So many deep emotions, 2 different personalities and she made it seem like a piece of cake. They both were definitely full into the character mode.
Now, to the positive supporting cast, Ren Yu's brother and the chief, gosh such characters are rare and genuine. I even liked ML's unofficial assistant 😂 and cousin sister. The other friend of FL and her parents were also nice.
