The MDL comment section is starting to look like a Kpop comment section....all the obsession about views, popularity,…
Your last sentence is giving me the vibe of saying "judging the book by its cover". I love kpop, and I dont go into any song or group based on what others think of it. Everyone should create their own opinion about things. Dont banish this drama only bcs of comments. If u wanna banish it, do it after creating your own opinion about it.
If I were to compare this drama to something it would be Sei no gekiyaku. Yeah, might be shocking since Sei is very graphic, while this isn't, but both contain obsession kinda? And maaaaybe borderline obscene thinking? Not in a bad way, but the BDSM way. This is why not many people like this drama, because they can't comprehend how can ''Mr. Hi'' be so enamored by the King when the King is cold as ice. Well, people like that exist, so if you find this way of thinking disgusting, this drama really ain't for you, but if you are on the other side fascinated by the thought process, than go for it!
No, it had real ending. The real Deok Im died at the age of 33, but trust me, she was loved by the king very much. She had children with him and was well educated and supported by the king.
The director worked on Extraordinary You and True Beauty and maybe that's why I had such high expectations? Look, I don't really like background political schemes and this drama contains a LOT of it. We got only two episodes, but I already skipped a lot of corruption stuff that was going on. It's really confusing to me, since the two dramas above didn't have that and focused on the school campus and most importantly - the leads. This drama for now focuses more on the shitty characters and their schemes rather than leads and their relationship. I had this same problem with Secret love affair and I really don't wanna see it happen with this drama....
For me, Alice wins and mostly because it delivered what I have asked for - death. I wanted to watch something with lots of blood and not just "boring" serial killer type of drama, but something with games. It was my first death game drama and that set up the bar. Alice has much higher death count than Squid Game and the games are also more brutal. Squid Game played with us with emotional connections between characters. Often there were long takes about the character interactions while in Alice each convo was about how to survive the next day and games also played bigger part in Alice, than in Squid where some games took only few minutes per episode.
Also, the ending of Alice hyped me much more for season 2 than Squid game.
EP5 ended us all, I know it!
