This is easily the drama of the year. IU and So Ri are both incredible as Ae Sun, I can’t even decide who I…
The middle age dad is good too as it shows how steadfast his love is for his daughter even it it is one sided, as it has been for many of us, who don't realize it until too late. He is an integral part of the multigenerational story of what each generation imparted on the next, in hopes that their children have a better life. I love this precisely because the shining love is not just for young people, and the excitement of young romance, but endures. The matrue actors and actresses are amazing.

Don’t remind me of this😭 I hate those type of first love never works out story….Why torture us with all…
what upset me about 2521 is that it didn't ring true. she breaks up because she wants a spouse who isn't absent. Yet through the whole drama her spouse is absent, even for their child's birthday, and even though they looked back in nostalgia, the breakup was messier. In this drama, the breakup is super heartbreaking, but she avoided a fate where her soul would be crushed by his horrible family, and they would have resented each other. He did not want to break from his mother, whereas her parents taught her to appreciate her worth and the husband should be by the side of his wife. The breakup should heartbreakingly why it had to happen and didn't hit me as false or an awkward plot point.

I wish 2521 was similar to episode 11
the way the ending of a first love relationship was so heartbreaking, yet the reasons they did and how they still had kind feelings for each other. I was sobbing.

I may be in the minority but I liked the ending. I liked how the plot twist had clues buried throughout in sort of a Sixth Sense movie way, so I don't feel cheated. I enjoyed this series. The first episodes I thought the flashbacks were redundant, and in the latter episodes more purposeful for moving the plot forward. My heart is happy, and after a rough week, I am thankful.

waiting for secret illigitemate son to somehow make it back as a plot point.
Also such a competition on who I dislike the most. Soooo many contenders!

Overall, I think this could be a really good drama. The first two episodes set up this high-stakes, tense world…
The scene with the daughter reminds me of arranged marraiges seen with the wealthy and powerful. The scene does seem random, but perhaps will be relevant to a future plot point.

The reality check that one classmate survived because she loved him broke his heart, especially when he didn't correct the lie about the hornet bite and felt that protecting the secret of him being an epileptic was more important than the truth. Plus, he really didn't love her in return. His acknowlegement that he was not loved by her, based on near death experiences caused him to wrap everything up and leave her alone. I think he tried to give her a final gift of telling her in an obtuse way that she is safe if she follows her heart - it is ok. Him walking away in the middle of the street to me was not due to a curse but sort of suicidal. My guess is, based on previews, he disappears, she in turn goes to look him up, maybe in their home town. His efforts seem to bring unintended consequences - from his job at the casino, to stalking someone he loved to try and break her curse.

I am hoping for a final scene where they heal each other from unintended consequences and find true, love that is superior to infatuation.

I felt the scene when he enters the rooftop a bit rushed, instead of repeating previous scenes they should have…
He was trying to not break the rule of number of sentences, but failed.

The ratings on MDL are absolutely ridiculous and unreliable for anything outside a particular genre. Regardless ,I am enjoying the tension and setting the table for a high stakes corporate battle.

As a side note it was touching in the credits after episode 1 that paid respects to the late actor Lee Yoon Hee, who played the Realtor in a cameo

This drama hit me hard with the feels. A non tropey slice of life about the life long love of a couple, all the way from childhood. Cliche? I don't think so in the setting of a small fishing village during that era. Insight into the repressive social contraints of a patriarchical society, that can't defeat their love. I am still wiping my tears. The entire cast is exceptional all the way down to 2nd leads, support and guest roles.

That last scene where his mother is carried in a flowered bier across the bridge seemed also like a metaphor - of when the dead cross a river when they die. It was beautiful, heartbreaking and with a setup like that, we have time to soak in the visuals of that scene instead of rushing through it. He learns his mother took the lead to drive the girl away, but he also understands his mother doing it out of love, and the guilt she felt reading his flawed paper which he thought he proved she wasn't a witch. The coversation on her death bed on if she believed in God and Heaven, and his trying to talk to her as a son and a scientist about taking the comfort of faith in the afterlife. These types of conversations are real and painful with loved ones facing death. For those who think this is slow, or not your cup of tea, that's ok - move on. But this drama is getting undeserved hate when episodes that haven't even aired yet getting low ratings. Pretty sad to take such efforts.

was i the only one who disliked that? idc about their history, just show the zombie story
this is not the drama for you - it is a comedy in a zombie setting. If you want straightforward zombie content there are others that are a far better fit for you.

Episode #4 was so good - the back story of the leads relationship was totally Wes Anderson style. Died laughing with the classroom setup, every single student wearing plaid, etc.

I’m having the same problem in the US. Can’t find it on Disney+ or anywhere else. Maybe a time delay? I’m…
Im thinking time delay too as Hulu not listed as where to view. I remember for Revenant it was a few months delay. Super frustrating that Disney can’t negotiate better timing for rights

Currently on episode 4. Is LJY gonna vape in every scene? I feel like it’s subliminal advertising at this point.…
The smoking and vaping is really bothersome as in the US there was a huge effort to deglamorize this habit. Especially since so many minors vape and the damage done.

I think that in all the netflix dramas some character smokes... in other company's dramas there are not so many…
There was a ton of smoking in Disney's Worst of Evil. Study Group on Viki has high schoolers smoking - although presented as delinquint type of behavior. Newtopia on Amazon had smoking. The movie Bogata, City of the Lost had smoking. I am definitely seeing more of it everywhere.
