Maybe all the novels of 188 series written by Shui Qiang Cheng should be turned into a drama adaptation so we can all rank the most red flag one lmao because Ming (Yan Mingxiu) sure got competition :))) Anyways, watching the drama version sure hits different than reading the novel omg I feel SO BAD for Joe. This is truly heartbreaking :((

So someone who watched one of Zeng Shunxi's recent lives commented : Zeng ShunXi did say in his livestream they were all on the beach together at the end and it wasn’t a daydream, but it was meant to leave it open and up to the audiences’ imagination what happens afterwards.
so yeah it confirms that it's really an open ending and that they were really all on the beach at the end.
I don't know if this information has already been shared yet but they censored one scene they filmed in the show. In episode 30 they censored the part where after Li Lianhua vomits blood Fang Duobing normally calls Li Lianhua "XiaoHua" and says "Don't scare me XiaoHua". Don't know why they deleted this part in the show :(

I just want to say Cheng Yi is one of my absolute favorite actors
This is the first drama I watched with him and wowwww I'm in awe. I'm going to follow all his dramas from now on. (But I hope they will use his real voice just like in Mysterious Lotus Casebook)
I don't want to spoil you if you haven't watched it but it really depends on how you view it because it's an open ending but for me it is a happy ending.
