I know. I’m merely stating the fact that it is bad, I didn’t say that it bothered me. I grew up with fantasy movies from the 70s and 80s so I have learned to ignore bad CGI and concentrate on the plot.

I really love the story and the acting, and I don't mind the bad CGI, but the fake horse riding is killing me. The FL has the same slow-motion up-down movements no matter which gait she is supposed to ride in. The worst is when we first see her going up-down like riding the ocean waves and then there's a cut where we see her from far away (= obviously a real rider) and her body doesn't move at all. Has the director never seen a person ride a horse before?? How could he let this pass and think it looked ok?
I really don't mind that some of the actors don't feel comfortable on a horse and use fake horses to pretend, but at least they should learn to act fake-riding properly.

What do you think how some big productions create scenes with thousands of warriors? Employ 10,000 extras?? No, they use maybe a hundred extras an add the other 9,900 people using modern technology. This drama has quite a bit a bad CGI (where you can clearly see that the people are standing in a studio in front of a blue screen and the artificial scenery is added) so they could have done the same to enhance the Cui army.

You could ask the same about Jeremy Tsui, but I think it’s better to be in a support role in a good drama, than be the lead in something low-budget, surrounded by people who cannot act.

No, not really. He and the ML have different goals and a different mentality, but even though they are initially on opposite sides they collaborate against their common enemy. I actually liked him a lot in the novel. They may give a slightly different twist to his character in the drama script, but from the clips that I’ve seen they were still working/drinking together.

L&R must have been quite an easy novel to write, half of the words were “Si Feng!” 😂😂😂😂

Some parts of The Untamed were as draggy and as boring as hell. It took me three attempts to get through it.
Even if the script is based on an original story, they can improve on it to improve the flow of the drama. Sadly most scriptwriters just use their creative freedom to add more of the standard tropes, but the director can reject a bad script at any time, if he doesn't it either means he's ok with it or he doesn't care.

So they are siblings but supposed to marry? That just sounds so wrong…

Good! I liked him in Destined (his acting, not his character). Since here he will be the ML I trust they will make him a bit more likeable 😀 If the FL is a female assassin then at least she won’t be a damsel in distress.
In any case, the first pics look amazing, so let’s hope the story will be just as good.

I see. Obvious clue for those who read the book, but quite meaningless for those who haven’t. I’m quite sure she won’t be a murderer in the drama version as the leads in C-dramas cannot be too dark, especially the female ones.
So is this another story of two people torturing each other and we’re supposed to believe they fall in love? I’m really not too keen on that trope…

Yeah, the dubbing is out of sync, but it doesn’t bother me too much as I am concentrating on the really bad subs to work out what they’re trying to say. I think all the actors in this were dubbed.

Autumn Ballad. He also has his real voice in Trace but there aren’t any English sub for that and in Fairyland Lovers. In the latter he only appears in a few episodes, I think starting at ep. 12, but it is a real treat.

This looks like a very tough scene to film. I hope it won’t take too long and he doesn’t catch a cold.

The main plot line is a bit draggy and the main couple is rather boring but in comparison it’s no worse than some of the pretty-boy dramas rated 8+
The 2nd couple are having a secret affair which is already ongoing as the drama starts. It ends badly when power becomes more important than love, so no HE.
They both have quite a bit of screen time as their plotting is driving the story and Jeremy absolutely nails the obsessed character.

It was long... but yeah, it was good but could have benefited from a bit of "trimming". Don't get your hopes up for seeing much of LYN, his role is interesting but hasn't a lot of screentime. Most of it is towards the end of the drama.

Yeah, he is really annoying, but not for too long.

Try Legend of Dugu - Jeremy Tsui isn't the ML but definitely obsessed with his love interest (and evil). He kind of stole the show from the main characters in this one.

Most importantly (and unlike AJTL) they managed to give this a decent ending that wasn't rushed. In my book that wins it many extra points.
