I’m loving this series. I was a big fan of Eternal Love but it is moving a bit slower than I’d like and not really seeing a point to the mortal realm. Hopefully there’s a reason for it. Judging from the spoiler for eps 31-40, it doesn’t look like a lot is happening and they are staying in the mortal realm.

I can’t believe this is airing before pillow book.

General Pei said to LCY at the end that XF was long dead and that the grass had long covered her grave. So she is definitely dead.

There is a YouTube video that discussed the alternate ending that the author had which was that LCY let XF leave back to her home.

Personally I think this ending was fitting. At the end of it, he simply did not love her more than his revenge and she simply had no one left to live for and could never be free because he wasn’t going to let her go.

This drama is totally worth watching to the end. Even though the affection isn’t there. You will see clearly that he loves her very much.

I think by then he was a little insane. He also was telling husband advisor that XF was coming back. And the fact that she was so young and he was so old tells me it was an illusion.

I feel sad for XF too. She is way too good for him, for both the male leads.

I hope his memories return when XF dies so that he can feel the pain doubled over and unable to do anything to reconcile without XF.
