I agree with you. They are both abusers. Most parents don’t know how to genuinely love their children. They think providing for their children and being affectionate are the same. They really cannot differentiate.

I think he did it out of concern for his wife. Jung Gicheul came back to find out the woman he has loved all his life and is ready to give up everything for is married to his supposed best friend. It was the realization that made him attempted suicide cause he can’t live with the fact.He did it so she wouldn’t have to bear the guilt of being the one who caused his death or watching who she loved kill himself in her presence.
