Title Shine on Me Spoiler
The is a spoiler from the novel, but it wasn't actually her who invited him, he thought it was. We find out later,…
Why did he agree to go on the date with the fl specifically? It seems like he hasn't cared about dating but was suddenly interested when he found out it was the fl. How did he know her before?

She's loud and he's quiet. I love it. But I'm most curious about who'll fall first and who'll fall harder ??????…
It's a kdrama lol, he'll fall first and he'll fall harder.

Everytime I wanna rewatch this drama, 2 scenes/arcs always stop me. The stupid misunderstanding in ep17-19 and the confession from sml, especially the FL's reaction to that confession. Someone else put it perfectly, "her reaction makes it seem like she's almost regretful that she can't say yes to him because she's dating the ml". The drama frames it like, if the sml had just confessed before fl reconciled with ml, she would have accepted him even though she was the one sorely in the wrong for that dumb misunderstanding.

It's such a shame for me because this could have been one of my favourite dramas but instead it's just one of many good dramas I've watched because of 2 scenes.

well, in Kdramas only the man is yearing, the women are shagging around happily. That is the problem.Let the FL's…
I agree with most of what you said but can't you say it in a better way? "Shagging around, pure virgin" make it a lil difficult to agree/support your point. Idk, maybe it's just me.

I do agree though. I think the general problem is that the ml in kdramas always seem to love the fl much more. It's as if they are afraid to make fl show unconditional affection while the ml's default is unconditional affection. Its the reason I gave up on kdramas for cdramas. The relationships there for most recent dramas feel more "balanced" compared to kdramas. I gave up on dynamite kiss because of this as well.

i dont get why everyone suddenly hates drama like this. like five years ago everyone wouldve loved it. personally…
I think that's the issue. It's a trope that's been done a lot and people just don't like it as much anymore.

wait---esp.9 [PAUSE] dont reply to me with nonsense... ABEGMr.GONG is really taking the piss by mixing personal…
If he kept it professional, he would fire her instantly with the possibility of even worse consequences for fraud since the requirements for the job was for mothers.

Honestly if viewers try to look at the subtext it's clear from the beginning she is interested but cannot take…
I agree with all that but FL is also married with a child in ML's mind for 8 episodes yet he's clearly madly in love with her. It's just how the story is setup, he falls hard for her and they "dynamite kiss" only applies to his side. If they wanted, the tension of liking the other party but not being able to act on it could have been a 2-way thing since there are reasons stopping both of them on acting on their feelings

I didn't like the way that conflict was solved. Bringing the sml for jealousy nonsense right after as well as Ji Hyeok instantly chasing after Da Rim makes it seem like he was the one in the wrong and drama is punishing him. Even if the conflict was solved quickly, there should be some kind of aftermath in how Ji Hyeok approaches Da Rim based on how much suffering we saw him go through because of her lie.

Idk, it just feels anticlimactic and seeing him taking the initiative in the preview just doesn't sit right with me. I know people don't like it when things drag but maybe an episode where there's tension between them, not the cartoony type shown in this episode with the document redos and love triangle stuff, actual tension with both reflecting on themselves and the way forward for their relationship. It feels like it was 8 episodes built on the lie then in half an episode everything was fixed and based on the preview, it's like the lie, the last 7/8 episodes just didn't happen.

Sml just shouldn't exist, the jealousy stuff just made the resolution of everything feel even more cheap.

It's a lot of complaining but I've enjoyed the drama so far, it's just that the resolution of the major plot point so far just fell flat for me. I also know there are reasons why Da Rim can't fully fall or express her love for Ji Hyeok but we've seen 8 episodes of him madly in love with her and it seems it's just gonna be more of that with her not really giving the same energy. That kind of imbalance is something I'm not really fond off in kdramas, but that's the norm I guess. Great drama, highly recommend it but I'm probably gonna drop it depending on the next episode due to the imbalance in their relationship. Just a personal preference.

I really hope this isn’t the kind of K-drama that leaves you feeling like the FL’s feelings for the ML aren’t…
Unfortunately I'm 99% sure it is. The way the conflict was resolved, straight back into love triangle nonsense and the ep 10 preview with ml "chasing" after her again all just further reinforces that.

Rn, I don't think it's far-fetched to say Da Rim hasn't fallen in love with the ML while he's been in love with her since ep2

Da Rim at one of the lowest points in her life;

SML: Now is the the perfect time to confess!!!🙄🙄... In all the years he's liked her, that's the day he chose? Couldn't even let her sleep on her sorrows for one night before trying to take advantage.

And the typical "don't give me an answer now" when he's about to be rejected. SML can just F off, maybe the goal wasn't to make him seem manipulative but so far that's all I see

You are not alone. Any recommendations of shows with that plot?
Most kdramas are like that. Personally not my cup of tea but you might enjoy them

I did not watch all the stuff while FF in some of the new episodes. Which episode does the granny lie to the kid…
Latest episode (22). She tells him the same lie she told the ml, claiming the fl abandoned them for her dream of ballet.

Yeah, what a waste... I loved it, when he said they'd see each other at the funeral at the end of 1st episode.…
It's the reason I don't bother with most kdramas anymore. A lot of cdramas atleast try to say both never moved on, never dated, e.t.c. Cdramas also have a lot of "simp" MLs but they still feel like they have their dignity. Kdrama MLs are honestly justpathetic. It's like they must always wait and love the fl no matter what she does or how much she loves them.

I just don't get why they don't allow the FL to love and express her love as much as the ml in kdramas. That is not weakness.

This feels like it was made in the 2010s where evil acts were downplayed in dramas. How is what the mom did just being glossed over? On top of that, she's manipulating the kid and it's also just being glossed over! How is her outright lying to the kid about what happened in the past considered "saying things without thinking". I love the atmosphere/feel of the drama but I'm stopping here because it's pretty clear the villain won't suffer much consequences.

I know when consuming fiction/entertainment you are supposed to suspend disbelief to some portion but OMG I can't…
I also hate this trope. Seperating in high school and meeting again after college (3-6 years) without moving on is much more understandable. Cherry on top is the female leads usually move on while the male leads are seemingly willing to wait until their dying breath for some reason

These weeks episodes just made all the characters more unlikeable. Jihyeok is trying to free his mom from a toxic…
Disagree on the first point. The only reason Jihyeok wants to force the marriage with Hayeong is because he believes she's trying to ruin the marriage between Da Rim and the sml. That was made pretty clear. She isn't innocent in his eyes, he probably sees the same thing that happened to his mom happening to Da Rim. In his eyes, the entire situation mirrors what happened with him and his mom, since Da Rim and sml also have a son

What was that ending in episode 7? It really seems like the ML is trying to shut down his feelings for the FL.…
He wants to protect the fl's marriage hence him emphasizing that he won't allow the sfl to cheat. If he didn't know about the "affair" between the sfl and sml, he would probably still refuse the marriage and try to move on from tge fl in another way.
