I loved the second lead in Shine on Me . Even I was the only one ahah
Lol I hated him. He didn't even particularly do anything too bad but I hated him just as much as the obsessed sml in historical dramas who go as far as murder
Why did they turn this into a crime procedural? Zhang Bin and Cen Ye were basically guest characters in the novel,…
Most cdramas are too afriad to fauthfully adapt a drama that focuses on just the 2 leads and their relationship. It's honestly kind of annoying because the reverse doesn't apply.
Please someone enlighten me what the heck is a 'vertical drama'?
Usually 50+ episodes, less than 2mins per episode, and as the name implies, are viewed vertically on mobile. tik tok has a bunch of them, you can also find them on youtube compiled into 1-3hour long vertical videos. Very low budget, tropey as hell, and extremely repetitive, 90% of them have rich ceo/prince/marshal/general ml madly in love with an fl who just broke off with an ex or was reborn after being betrayed by her ex.
I honestly don't recommend trying to search for them on your main account on tik tok because its very very difficult to get rid of them on your fyp once they invade it.
Is it only me or china especially in dramas ...is more feminist than we thought.everything happens for FL, evrything…
If you actually want an answer.
I find it far more common in kdramas. MLs in kdramas are rarely ever given any dignity by the writers from the few that I've tried.
In general though, romance media is made for women so it will usually favor the fl in the "romance" aspect (chasing, jealousy, love rivals, groveling/apologizing e.t.c). It's just a part of the media like how you will find some biases towards the ml if you watch media made with men as the audience. In facf, in those there is no ml and fl, its just one protagonist who is male.
The jealousy nonsense is only nice when it's not dragged, at most half an episode. Their talk about past exes 2 episodes ago should have been the last time we either saw the "sml", or if he stayed around, should have been the last time we saw him in the role of making the ml jealous.
Dragging it for episodes on end just makes people dislike all 3 (fl, ml and sml).
lol. If people say they ship Ml with 2FL yall will get mad. 😂
I felt this in shine on me. I could not understand anyone shipping the fl with the sml especially in the 2nd half of the drama. They literally had no scenes to even ship
I don't mean this in a bad way but I literally burst out laugh when reading "she meets the sunny and charismatic top student, Jiang Yu Bai" in the synopsis. After watching go go squid 2 and blossoms in adversity, the idea of Hu Yitian acting "sunny" trips me up.
I watched this in 2006 and watched the season 2 in 2008... I was in Grade 7 and 9 that time. And until now, this…
I was really frustrated when I wrote so was excessively mean. My sentiment of not liking the ml still stands though. How do you tolerate the ml's behavior towards the fl?
Finding a dramatic character interesting and entertaining to watch and wanting to see how their journey develops…
I agree with ur first comment about liking the chracter Ye Xian, I haven't seen much pushback on that. I'm only seeing pushback when he's shipped with the fl or when his love/sincerity is compared to the ml. That's when people start bring up the bad he's done towards the fl.
Annoying characters just falling out if the woodwork now and whats with all the noble idiocy- starting to look…
I actually see the 3rd act breakup and noble idiocy much much more in kdramas compared to cdramas. It still frustrates me when it happens in cdramas but with kdramas I now just sigh, can't get disappointed anymore when they all do it. Same thing with long unnecessary love triangles/rivals, kdramas love their triangles.
Man hopefully one day a drama will come out where the sml tries to gaslight the ml like here and he gets his piece…
THIS!!! It's so annoying. I wish these MLs would call out the SMLs for being cowards who can't go say these things to the FL, or outright tell the fl what the sml said or at the very least ignore the sml, just walk away when he starts spouting nonsense.
imo the "romance" is the worst part of this drama because of the fl. Episode 35 was something else. I think this would have been better without any romance, maybe even make the ml a woman who understands Miyu's plights in the industry. The romance just made me dislike the fl.
The ep 33 preview is really annoying. Miyu seems so hypocritical. I thought the whole thing with Tan was over but they are seriously continuing it for conflict. If that was the ml and the streamer Miyu would be throwing a fit and sulking. I hope the drama calls her out but considering the ml's friend seems to be blaming him for being jealous, the drama will indulge her.
