Some series can survive without romance. Beyond Evil, Strangers From Hell, D.P., Navillera, Black Out and more dramas didn't include romance and were still good.
Aw, thank you so much! I am honestly very doubtful about this review because I'm afraid I didn't articulate my thoughts properly but your comment is very nice!
I just read the plot after seeing so many people hyping it up. Cannot believe I would almost miss this. Love me an interesting psychological thriller and mother-son relationship.
I watched it recently without high expectations and I had fun, not gonna lie. Obviously the writing is kinda lackluster and the characters lacked depth but at least the series never pretended to be anything pretentious or sell itself as a deep gangster show. It was a pure revenge story with good action and fight scenes, nothing more, nothing less.
I really enjoyed Gong Myung, he nailed the role of the spoiled and arrogant brat. I saw him for the first time in Extreme Job and this time he played a very different character equally well.
Not bad but not good!I would say that this drama is for a family time. I don't really recommend it, I only watch…
I haven't watched Divorce Insurance or The Nice Guy but I totally agree that they should stop giving this type of roles to Lee Dong Wook. He really shines in thrillers and action series.
Episode 5 seems more interesting based on the preview but given the fact we have seen how the writing and directing has been for the past 4 episodes, I have zero faith the series will improve that much. At least it seems like the story will move forward but again, I do not have high hopes.
I really, REALLY hope that after the recent events on Episode 4, the story will take off even just a little bit. But given the fact that throughout these 4 episodes, the pacing and writing are not improved, my hopes will remain low. Unless a miracle happened, the series will retain its flat and slow storytelling.
Why do they include all of these eating scenes, what is their obsession with having them eat and indulge in pointless conversations instead of creating proper scenes to showcase their bond?

Same energy with "Somehow Palpatine returned".
