then dohyun probably has one too for older women lol
I think Dohyun might be ending up in these roles because of 18 Again. Like a typecasting just started for him lol Maybe he is also one of the few young actors who can play a convincing romance with an older women without awkwardness. Either way, I'm hoping he won't be stuck playing those roles.

But every time FL fall in danger or is injured the ml helps him....not the cousin.....and hugging is also comforting…
When the FL fell in danger in the palace the one who helped her is ALWAYS the cousin. Just because he couldn't be by her side 24/7 didn't mean the ML helped her more. If he knew she was injured, the cousin would have helped her as well. He even comforts her without her needing to say she needs help. He gave her options to ran before whenever he sees her sad and gave her sweets to cheer up. So take off your rose tinted glasses. You can like the male lead without denying the obvious

I love Park Eun-Bin and was looking forward to this drama, but we're 16 episodes deep and I feel like the plot…
This. I think someone made a comment like a week ago or so talking about how badass the female lead is for battling these schemes and politics all by herself... WHERE?? The schemes are barely existing! Are we watching the same drama? This series have the weakest politics I've ever seen and the writing is so bad that now I feel inclined to write a review once this drama ends.

Only 5 episodes in and this series is so MUCH better then The King's Affection. Just the way the politics doesn't feel shoehorned and actually enchance the story + romance is making me look forward to it more. I hope they don't ruin this later on like most dramas.

Somebody explain to me how some oppas looks so much better in costume, period dramas then they do in modern day…
I usually would agree but have you seen him in Chief Kim? That's a look!

Kissing the women he loves is problem now? It's not like he forced her to do that..
I've been saying he is a dumbass but people still defend him. I swear it won't hurt if they did kiss in a private place, where there is four walls. You will still get a kiss scene that everyone loves while it make sense! It feels like he is out to exposing the female lead.

I really don't like the explanations provided in this thread because they are too vague and seemingly overlooking…
One of my biggest gripe with this series is the characterization (probably have to do with the duration tho) but I still enjoyed it regardless.

Thank you for the advice.

Sammeee, I saw some comments that tried to explain why they thought the drama "didn't make sense" and like...…
Actually, point one is what I'm implying. The he was for the writer. I don't know if you are a woman or a man so it wasn't meant for you lol (Now I know you are a he) although it seems I got point 2 wrong. Thank you for clarifying. The person I replied too could have clarified it as well since they agreed with you but I'm assuming they don't have any clue what they are agreeing with since they are replying to everyone except me.

Thank you for clarifying this. I actually agree with a lot of the points you said except I don't view the protagonist favorablely for these reasons as well. You mentioned how the protagonist don't jump to conclusions and derive their knowledge based on what they observe. I view that as the protagonist not grasping reality either. Even after viewing the Hell Bound, they seemed out of touch like the detectives talking about how it's "murder" when many witnesses testified it wasn't done by human, showed their fliming, got results from laboratory that it wasn't.

If you noticed, the detective is the one who let the world be deceived when the leader gave him an option to flim him "dying" so he could have saved humans from being manipulated. The lawyer, as well, focused more on the cult leader and less on the fact this world took a 180 flip. And later we got the producer who cared only after it happened to people close to him. None of them have taken proper measures. The Taxi driver saying how humans should rely on themselves prove how arrogant they are. They couldn't convince other humans to behave rationally yet somehow thought they can challenge "God" when they can't fight those "Angels". Like you said, this is all dumb down. I feel like the message was to prove that all humans are gullible, selfish and easily manipulated during fear but at the end, there will be "hope". If that's not the message he is aiming for then he failed miserably indeed. They were too one dimensional. It was still an interesting story but it could have been written so much better.

I would like to say you've peaked my interest in Nietzsche. I'll read about him during my spare time. Once again, thank you very much.

You said it would be promoting a epistemological worldview that would favor atheism than theism. I know you are reading between the lines but it's a bit of an early assumption to make when this very epistemological worldview in ending in theism is what I'm saying. And most of the characters were behaving in a manner that doesn't favor any type beliefs. You are giving this writer way too much credit on his skills to make a story with such philosophical undertones but maybe I'll see between the lines what you saw if season 2 kept up with this formula.

I'm loving how we are getting a little diverse with genres in Korean dramas. From Kingdom, Sweet Home, Squid Game, Hellbound and now this. I don't know how I feel for Sci-Fi but I'm down for it.

I would like to debate you on this matter. I'm keeping an open mind as I do believe what you said have some truth but I'm interpreting this differently as I don't think the supernatural element should be ignored. It kinda proves theism is real and atheisms is false. I won't deny that it makes theism look very bad but I don't think atheists are completely exempted from this either, The series started of by showing how atheism always ignore signs because they can't "see" it even when events were reported over 10 years ago. Atheism never use their "rationalism" when it's needed the most. I would say the 1st cult leader is an rationalist as his reasons for why he created The New Truth was not because he wants to prove God's existence but rather how he "needed" to make it seems like only sinners go the hell when he knew it wasn't TRUE. So his goal wasn't to spread God's message. He even mentioned how he wants everyone to feel the same fear as he did. He knew the best way to do it was taking advantage of religion because anything supernatural = God, which even an atheist would believe. I would say most of the people weren't religious but once events occurred the atheist also contributed with the radical religious people by harassing people. I know your point would be atheist became radicals once they converted to religion but shouldn't their rationalism tell them to stop? Doesn't this prove that everyone become radicals in the face of fear? I would say this is where the series gets a bit weak. An actual theism would have pointed out violence and harming others is a sin therefore would make them sinners aka bounded to hell.

I really don't get the hate in this comment section, I came here after finishing and enjoying the "hell" out of…
I really dislike it when people say people are not enjoying it because they don't understand it. That insinuate the viewer aren't that smart enough to understand the plot. It happened with The King: Eternal Monarchy. However, I've been reading the comments and some of the reasons people are giving gave some truth to your statement. It's annoying to see but yes, some people don't understand.

I've read their point and how does the writers possible and maybe assumed ideology correlate with the story? It's not making any sense to you because he is making religious people seem like radicals? While non-religious a rationalist as BFJRKY put it. That doesn't prove your point?

I think you need to elaborate more on that. "They are mixing things and theories without any real thought behind it." That's basically the whole point of the show? Humans coming up with theories on why it happened and ran with it. I'm not a big fan of the series but if you are one of those who are critiquing it and coming in saying it "doesn't make sense" you need to elaborate on it. What didn't make sense? The premise of it wasn't giving you answers because NOBODY KNOWS THE ANSWER so what's not making sense?

Sorry but the terrible cgi of especially the baby is unforgivable for a netflix original imo. It at times looked…
Probably not. The only drama I can think off is Sweet Home and I wasn't a fan of the CGI there except for that half head one. However, I don't really complain about CGI since it's not a big issue for me.

Strong first 3 episodes, weak last 3 episodes. I'll wait for season 2 to get answers. I feel like some people don't realize this is 5 hours (50 minutes per ep). Most dramas have over 16 hours and they are either redundant, dragging, or fail to tie their story well despite the long duration. This is only the "beginning". It serves it's purpose as an introduction before heading into the "why it's happening". I have a feeling I might not like season 2 because the "answers" might be meh but I'll still tune in to watch. I can never hate on a series that is different. So many k-dramas are centered around romance, cliche, very typical themes. While I do enjoy romance, it's, in my opinion, one of the easiest genre to write. As I writer myself, I can't explain how hard it is to come up with a story that requires world building. It's not as easy as it looks.
