My sister wasn't a fan of Kim Nam Gil (I know how dare she???) But after this, she absolutely smittened by him. He needs to be in more dramas, he is literally one of the best.
Lee Ha Nee really nailed her role in this. Weird, charming, and iconic. I really enjoyed the fact this show didn't have romance but it's also one of the rare ones where I wouldn't have mind if it had romance because she was THAT good. Her chemistry with everyone was great. She was *chief kisses* and had a great character development. Not just her but each side characters really shined when they needed it to be.
Ep 4 was so good..SJK is in his zone as the calm devil and the way he started hitting back at his adversaries…
Vincenzo have to be his best role so far. If he continues his great performance, I might just watch his next drama just because he is in it. However, I'm still at a level where I'm impressed by him but not crazy over him.
I completely see your point but it doesn't change the fact VC completely outshines her in everything. Even in…
Then that's where the problem lies. Yes he is meant to overshine but it doesn't mean it should make her incompetent. Even when she was jailed, he was the one who bailed her out. She's a lawyer, she should know there is a camera near by her apartment. I like to remind you she is not an INTERN. She is a lawyer with 8 years of experience. I EXPECT better especially since she claims she's the best. She SET the standard and she is FAILING to meet it. Now it's not my fault that I'm holding her accountable (or rather the writer since he is the one messing it up) for her words and actions. She was once in the best law firm, she should know some of their tricks and tips.
And I'm going to stress it so you won't take my words out of context again but I'm not calling her incompetent for following the plan, I'm calling her incompetent because she barely contributes to any of those plans except being in court in Vincenzo's steady. There is a difference.
As for the victims, they didn't want anything to do with her BEFORE they knew about her father. I would say Vincenzo actually did convince them and the recording gave the last push, which I have credit her for but that's literally the only contribution that she have actually done on her own.
Yes, of course there isn't a "perfect" show which is why we will always have mixed responses. It's natural and it what starts discussion other than complete adoration. Unless you want to be a gatekeeper and only keep the compliments, I don't see anything wrong with people pointing out the flaws.
In a plot where the main theme of the drama is "evil punishes evil", VC was always going to be the focal point…
I completely see your point but it doesn't change the fact VC completely outshines her in everything. Even in simple things such as convincing the victims. She went in there faking her tears of sympathy (frankly, she doesn't need to fake it when she is a victim herself). It makes me question her competence. Most who are criticizing her aren't asking her to be brutal. She never will be but doing simple things like finding wiretapes that her previous boss snuck, convincing victims (at least she had that recording so I'll give her that), plan a way to help in invalidating the courtroom. Those doesn't require brutality. They just require a little bit of thinking as someone who claims to be the best lawyer of her previous law firm. I'm sure she will eventually help Vincenzo because he will be in a pickle from all foreshadows I've seen but yeah, so far, she ain't it. But at least we can see Vincenzo is teaching her how to be a villain. I'm curious to see how that will play out in the future episodes.
I love Cha Young and her antics but you're not wrong, she just follow Vincenzo plans and doesn't add input in…
I didn't really expect any agreements.. I was prepared for the hate comments to pour in but yes, I can imagine it being more frustrating to watch as someone who actually like her. I have my own favorite female character (in anime) who been reduced to nothing but mediocrity and honestly, the writer have made me rant for years over what he did to her. I just don't like it when FL gets pushed to a aside because I like female characters more than male characters.
The FL is poorly written. That former prosecutor lady is a better written character than the FL.
I'm surprised the people dislike the former prosecutor when she is doing her part well. And I'm also suprised the writer created a FL like this. His FL leads from his previous dramas were well written that I honestly expected more from him.
6 episodes in and Cha Young have added little to almost no value to the plot except being a lame love interest. If you thought Chairman Han Seo was a puppet then Cha Young have also been nothing but a puppet to Vincenzo. I can hardly call it team work when Vincenzo is putting in 99% of the work in planning while all she does is executing them BECAUSE he is Italian therefore, he can't be in court to take up that 1% of usefulness she have. Even the assistant Lawyer can do what she does if he was told.
The worst part is how she claims she is the best lawyer. Yeah, best lawyer yet her contribution is the same as the side characters when she is hogging up most of the screentime. Very impressive... not. Maybe if they casted a different actress, her flaws wouldn't be this jarring. No offense to actress Yeo Bin but she comes across as a rookie.
I'm also disappointed in the writer. He should have sticked to his usual format of no romance and kept his badass female characters not do this shit. He better redeem himself by episode 10 and step up her game or else she will continue being the biggest flaw of this show.
Priest dramas.... I hate them but I saw Kim Nam Gil and him being there means it's a must watch for me. This casting tho.... if Siwan accept, it will be phenomenal.
Leaked? What was leaked? For me, I'm just quicker at picking up hints. Episode 3 when the prosecutor said she had a magical crystal and she got it when FL found person the researcher, THAT made me suspicious of the intern. And from there, I started to think the intern might actually be the bad guy and just connected the dots. And like every show, they won't hide a character's identity unless we know the identity.
I really like how the writer let us know what Vincenzo means at the end of epsiode. Really gave it a nice touch. The only thing I'm worried about and HOPE they won't do is make Vincenzo not kill anyone because "female lead said so" kind of bullshit. "It takes a devil to drive out another devil" I want the show to stick with that message.
I do not understand all this backlash to her acting, I see nothing wrong with what she is portraying. Everyone…
Well, she acts like she is a rookie actress in this drama. I'm sure she is wonderful but this one in particular just ain't it. However, I did say as the episodes go by, I hope her acting will be natural because some just don't sell it in the first few episodes but may later on.
The female lead... I'm currently watching The Fiery Priest as well and someone compared her to the lawer there and sorry but no. The role was as quirky but the actress there was able to nail it. This, however, seems forced in a lot of scenes. I'm just hoping as the episodes go, her acting will seem more natural. BUT no romance between the two... please I'm begging.
Thought of watching this but Ji Chang Wook have been picking nothing but shit scripts (yeah, not sugarcoating it) that I no longer trust dramas he is in. I'm disappointed to say this since he is one of the actors I had expectation for once upon a time.
I'll be watching season 2 so you're not alone :) this is makjang after all, whats there to expect? butterflies…
I won't be watching season 2 when it's airing lol learned from this mistake. After hearing it have 3 season, we all know evil guys will win for at least 2 seasons so I'm not surprised with this ending. I don't know what everyone expected. At least they push and pull with us. They give us justice then injustice and the cycle continue. I had a lot of frustration but also satisfaction like that revenge on the prison blackmailer and letting them all swim on the sewers. I'm only hoping they smarten up Oh Yoon Hee a lot more for season 2.
It looks like I'm one of the few people who will watch season 2. I can't say this drama sucks just because the ending wasn't what everyone wanted. So far, I'm liking the setup they did in the last episodes. Am I the only one who enjoys the development of the kids? It's quite pleasant to see Eun Byeol acting like a lunatic. She will drive her mom to insanity and that's satisfying! Also Yenny... she got a change of heart after all she been through. I'm also looking forward to her ending; if she will protect her mom once the truth unfolds or drag her down. Oh Yoon Hee and Logan relationship from here forth will be interesting...
