Most people consider the ML and FL pairing and chemistry in this drama, one of the best ever, though. They went…
That's largely a problem with Rebirth sticking closer to the novel: Chu Qiao in the 80+ chapters of the novel; what she did in the last 80+ chapters was pretty tame compared to what she did in the 190+ chapters of PA.
This could be because they couldn't get the right to PA, only the novel.
But it still kept the fact that she was trained by Zhuge Yue, which PA set up. It didn't happen in the novel; she got her skills and intelligence from being reborn into the world.
Chu Qiao's character arc works in the novel because of the continuity.
At the same time, you see Zhuge Yue and Yan Xun’s character arcs mirror each other, but in reverse. Yan Xun begins as a radiant and warm youth who is gradually consumed by hatred, vengeance, and ambition. Zhuge Yue begins as a cold and distant man, yet through love, loss, and self-understanding, he becomes warmer, no longer an ice block.
Also, Yan Xun barely appears in the novel after Ice Lake, and only mentions a few times until he meets Chu Qiao again in the very last chapter.
all the intrigue in season 1 about her tattoo and this great ancient power she was supposed to have and where…
It wasnt brought up because those specific thing was exclusive to PA adaptation, we dont know if they couldnt have the right to those specific thing in PA. But Rebirth follow the novel more in that sense.
It's not bad for what it is; the lead has great chemistry. It's short enough to just binge it in one go when all the episodes are out. Currently on episode 7
This probably wouldn’t be too bad if you haven’t watched Princess Agents, but if you have, within minutes…
Shameless plug! Even the novel is different than PA, as PA had to adapt certain important narrative points that the novel had. For those who just want to know what happens in the novel, I gave a pretty detailed write-up of what happened and how Rebirth diverges from the novel, for those who do not want to read all the chapters.
The biggest difference is that Chu Qiao was reborn into the current world. Which PA and Rebirth never touch on
Also, if you do not want to read the entire 279 chapters, the last 13 chapters are a Yan Xun side story.
For the start of Rebirth, you can pick up around chapters 190–193-ish, which covers the events of the Ice Lake. However, if you do not start from the beginning, you do miss certain event which they do call back to most importantly when Zhuge Yue and Chu Qiao reunion after the ice lake.
SPOILER WARNING — Episode 27 (Veil of Shadows). Just sharing how I finally understood the meaning of the prophecy.…
“What gets sacrificed, who gets erased, and how memory and identity are everything.”
Now that you have come to this realization, how do you feel?
Does the journey matter more than the destination? Because what really happens at the end is that everything up to that point has literally been a dream or an illusion.
For LWY and WWY, they never went on that journey and only landed at the destination.
Only WSG remembers, and maybe JL as well (we are unsure about this because there is no indication of whether he does or does not).
I just finished watching Rebirth, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. What made this drama so special for…
The ending you created in your mind is similar to the ending in the novel.
In the novel, Zhuge Yue made different choices, which truly show his transformation as a character.
That is one reason I did not like Rebirth. Even though I understand it is possible to have the second part of that ending, where ZY and YX are both old, looking as though they are filled with regret.
She also wrote The Eternal Fragrance

She never had those power in the novel.

I mean, it is Xiao Xiang Dong Er who is doing the screenwriting; it is definitely her style of writing
Happy for her that she is getting more of a spotlight here.
I hope she get a female general lead role in future project
The cast is pretty solid, seen a lot of familiar faces.
The action scene is definitely what stood out the most so far.
