Skip Beat has to be one of the greatest Taiwanese dramas I have ever seen. The story is really amazing. It's all based on REVENGE!!! Which, you know, isn't the best thing, but the way the theme of revenge is played out throughout the drama really makes it worth it. The importance of this drama is the fact that it is about friendship, and finding your dreams. I loved the focus on determination and perseverance the drama had as well. There wasn't really any focus on romance, being the romantic I am, that's what I was looking forward to, but I don't think Skip Beat needs it. The story was perfect without it, and it does have some ;). This drama was hilarious, and not hilarious in the "haha...that's funny" sort of way, but hilarious in the "What the....what...wha....HAHAHAHA" and it was perfect. I have to give HUUUGE props to the lead actress. She was amazing! Her character was so strange and eccentric, but at the same time amazing. She did a fabulous job! I loved Seeing me some Super Junior!! but I wish that Skip Beat incorporated more of the cast members besides Gong Xi and Lian. It would have been awesome to see the cast members play in with the drama together more. The music was by far the best music I have ever heard for a drama before. I will be purchasing the OST before the week is up. I'm not sure about rewatching though. I mean the drama was amazing, but for some reason the thought of rewatching it is..."ehh" but that's just me. I'm sure a lot of people will think it is worth rewatching a lot more than I do. Overall!! great drama. I enjoyed watching every crazy moment of it.
I originally watched this because of Playful Kiss, hoping to compare the dramas. I am a huge fan of Playful Kiss, but after watching It Started With A Kiss, it surpasses Playful Kiss. First off, the storyline may be close to the same, but ISWAK really goes into depth with the story and the feelings of the characters. ISWAK develops characters and how they handle certain situations, and unlike Playful Kiss' Baek Sung Jo, the audience can really understand the main character's feelings. I would highly recommend watching It Started With A Kiss if you are wanting something that is witty, funny, and romantic, and expect a lot more romance in the sequel. There shouldn't be any disappointment by the time you've seen the whole entire drama. :)
On the exterior, 200 Pounds Beauty seems to have a great story. The movie is great, the way the scenes fit together, and there's comedy, and and a heart warming story, but what really matters is the underlying meaning. The whole premise of the movie was to say that confidence is key, which is a good lesson to hold to, but the movie says that you can only have confidence when you're beautiful. The main character goes though a life changing operation to become beautiful for a guy basically. Over and over again throughout the movie they talk about how being confident is the thing, but while the movie says one thing, they show another. The lead character constantly praises the work she got done, saying how pretty she is, and how happy she is, because she got plastic surgery. This movie does not promote natural beauty, although it may seem like it does. What this movie promotes is doing whatever you can to get what you want, and how you can't be confident if you aren't pretty. The main actress had a beautiful voice, but her character seemed to be drunk all the time. The way she flung her arms everywhere or maybe the way she talked, but she didn't seem to have a stable character. The male lead was a jerk. He was saying horrible things about the lead female one moment, and the next he likes her, for her looks. The music, on the other hand, was great. The main song played, Ave Maria, was really beautiful, and a song that will be clicked on repeat on my ipod. Overall, this movie had decent cinematography, but the underlying meaning was too superficial to make this movie worth anything. I won't be rewatching this movie, because I prefer watching movies that promote natural and inner beauty, instead of saying you can only get somewhere by being pretty.
I thought the final was absolutely amazing. The acting was great, of course, and the characters fit together like they did in the drama. The final could have been made into a drama itself. I really loved the storyline of the final, and am really sad that it had to end. The final has some adventure in it which makes you want to keep watching to see what happens next. The ending was the best though. Being a huge fan of Hana Yori Dango, I was so sad to see it end, but seeing the way the final ends, although it is sad, was the perfect ending to one of my favorite dramas of all times. I just wish that the plot of the final was a little bit more clear. I kind of felt that the writers tried to pack so much into the final that it should have been a drama, but I know some people might get tired of the drama continuing on. There was so much fit into the small amount of time that the ending seemed a bit too rushed, and I don't think the time needed in certain scenes was there, but besides that, the final was amazing. It has definitely become one of my favorite endings to a drama, and if you're a Hana Yori Dango fan you won't be disappointed watching the final, because it's worth it.
I was a little hesitant to start watching the drama, because of the storyline. It didn't seem like it was going to be a good drama. When I started watching it I really did expect the story to be overtaken by the conversation of politics and sadness, but it was the exact opposite. The romance in this drama was so beautiful! There was, of course, some political talk, and sadness, but it was replaced with very humorous moments that I have not ever seen in a historical drama before. There were times when I was desperately heartbroken, and others where I was literally unable to breathe, because of something being extremely hilarious. The acting was great all the way through. I have to give huge props to all the actors who played the younger versions of the main characters. They all did a wonderful job, and are beyond their years in the world of acting. I loved, loved, loved Soo Hyun in this drama. He took his character to a knew and complex level. The music was absolutely beautiful!! I can still not get over the music that was played throughout this drama. It had an eerie grand warrior feel to it, if that makes any sense. I would rewatch this drama in no time. I really enjoyed it, and I'm sure anyone who watches it will. Overall, I give this a 9. Based on my personal rating I gave this drama a 10, but I feel that the storyline wasn't the absolute best, but you really cannot judge a drama based on it's initial plot. Loved this drama, and you will to. So! stop reading this review and go watch this drama!!!!!!
This drama has to be one of the best love stories ever. Right from the beginning I loved this drama. The storyline may seem done before, but the way the drama was written, it is anything but done before. The story is realistic. There weren't all sorts of obstacles placed in the way besides obvious ones everyone would face. The love between the two leads was so powerful and romantic. The cast did wonderful. I loved the male lead. His character portrayal was dead on. The love between the characters felt and looked real. The music for this drama was absolutely beautiful. I loved every song and felt that it went perfectly with the drama. This drama is totally worth rewatching! It was such a beautiful love story. This drama is totally underrated!! Overall, a magnificent love story more people need to see.
This truly is an adorable drama. The story is unique, not so unique, but it definitely has it's own twists and turns. The romance in this drama seems real, and true. I don't quite see how they fell in love, but at least they did, right? This drama incorporated not only love between a couple, but all sorts of views of love; love between parents and their children, between siblings, coworkers, friends, the list goes on and on. This drama shows that the greatest thing of life is love, and that it might not be easy, but pushing through and holding on to love will have the best outcome in the end. The cast did great. The actors embodied their characters. I loved how the lead female was not some crazy, outgoing character that most leads are. She wasn't the kind of person that would seem to be the ideal first choice, and that's what made her so unique. The few other lead females were crazy, and took on the evil role, but at the same time were characters that were viewed as human with faults and as a character with a heart. The one thing I loved the most about the lead male, Jae hee is the fact that he was a self made person. The character was not some spoiled heir to some fancy company, but in fact, he worked his way up from the bottom and earned every buzzillion trillion penny that added up to him becoming a billionaire all on his own talent! The music was great. There weren't too many songs, but each every song was a song that you would want to listen to on a regular basis. No fancy lyrics, and no heartfelt impact in the songs, but they were highly catchy and so enjoyable that I am buying the OST to the drama as soon as I can. I probably wouldn't want to rewatch. The drama was cute, but some of the episodes were repetitive. It felt like the writers just added crap to fill the time. Honestly, this drama could have been done in 13 episodes instead of 15, but I'm glad there were more episodes no matter how annoying a few of them may have been. Overall, one of the cutest dramas ever. I loved the love between the main characters. The acting was great, and although the story wasn't highly unique it was still unique in it's own way through the minor details. Cute drama that is worth watching when you're in the mood for a lighthearted cutesy drama. :)
WOW! All I can really say is that the storyline is amazing. The whole idea of forbidden love is a very intriguing aspect probably since it is not so common and is quite controversial. I thought that story had so much to give and teach; how love conquers all, and living your life the way you want. It seemed to me that all through the drama there were many political points. There wasn't mention of politics at all, but the way things are played out or some of the lines said take a true political turn, which I thought made Majo no Jouken even more fascinating. I did like the actors, but I didn't like them together. I didn't see any chemistry between the two leads at all, which is so frustrating since this drama deserved the best in all aspects, including the acting. The acting was great, it was just that I couldn't imagine the two leads together at all. The music was great, although it was only one song,I never got tired of the song, and still find that I want to listen to other than while watching the drama. I would definitely rewatch this drama. It was amazing, and such a sad but sweet story. Great drama, and totally worth watching. No one could finish this drama not being touched.
I've never been so humored and creeped out by a movie in my life, like I have been by Chilling Romance. The story is different. I don't know many comedic horror movies, do you? It was the perfect blend in genres that are never blended together. There's romance, humor, and horror. There were parts that are crazy funny, and others where you'll be super creeped out and scared. The romance was lovely; how they fell for each other and how the male lead was willing to accept the female lead, and all that goes with, like...I don't know, ghosts? The actors did wonderful. I don't think the characters could be played by different actors, or else the movie wouldn't have been the same. There wasn't really any music, but I loved the song for the end credits. It wasn't an overjoyed happy song, and it wasn't creepy like you hear in horror movies, but it was just how it was, and it fit perfectly. It's the sort of movie that you'll want to rewatch right away, but I doubt there would be the same suspense like there would be watching it the first time, because you'll know what's going to happen next. I absolutely loved this movie from the very first minute. It's a great movie, and worth watching 100% So, enjoy...:}
First off, I felt the story was an interesting one, but it wasn't too good. The only time the story got good was during the last few episodes, which I believe should have either been the whole premise of the story, or was a bit more drawn out. The writing for the drama was pretty bad. There were overly drawn out monologues, and really cheesy lines. I thought that the acting was really mediocre, which wouldn't make since for Rainie and Mike He. I didn't like either of their characters, and their acting for those characters wasn't good at all. I felt like Mike He's character was just whining all the time, and Rainie's character just seemed unstable. I love the music, which was done by Kingone, and Rainie. The theme song was super catchy, and even though I didn't like Rainie's song, I found that I was humming along to it. I wouldn't rewatch this drama, because I was sitting there waiting for it to be over. Overall, I give it a 6. It's not a drama that is a must watch, but it's not too bad. It's something that's not bad to watch if you are really bored.
Well...what to say? What to say? The story isn't the most original; rich, jerk falls for a poor girl, but even though it isn't original, it's a classic storyline. I liked the story, and it was cute. There wasn't any humor really, and the romance there was, wasn't that great. It was almost like the genre was..."huh." The cast did good. I really liked the female lead. I saw her in Secret Garden, so it was cool to see her in a different role, and I thought she did great. The other characters/actors didn't leave an impression. I can't even remember their faces. I liked the music. It was sweet? I wouldn't rewatch this. It wasn't good enough to watch, it was just an average movie.
The synopsis for this drama is a bit confusing. I was hesitant to start watching it, because it looked like it was going to be too complicated, but I realized that the synopsis is a little different than what I first thought. Basically, this drama is about having to choose between two things: Love and Money. Throughout the first part of the drama, I really enjoyed it, and kept watching episode after episode. There was romance and crazy situations that made for a highly entertaining watch, but the emotion of the drama changed as a whole around the 10th episode. The characters personalities changed as well; from straight forward and cocky, to passive and ignorant. It felt like I was watching an entire new drama entirely. The change wasn't too bad, but when I started watching this drama, I wanted to see a romance, not what the drama turned into, all about the moolah. The acting was good. There wasn't one character I could not like, and the difference with this drama and others is the fact that there isn't a "bad guy". In a sense, every main character had a good and dark side to their personalities, so it made the drama a bit more realistic in characterization. There wasn't only one type of music throughout this drama. It changed quite a bit. (I personally thought that there was better and more music in the first half of the drama) The music is what I like to call coffeeshop-esque. It had the feel of what you might here in a coffeeshop. I wouldn't really rewatch this drama. I was disappointed with the ending, so I wouldn't want to rewatch it, but on a nonbiased level I thought that the ending was nice. It was sweet and simple, and words weren't needed to explain how things ended(I wish there was more romance :P). Overall, Que Sera Sera is a decent drama, that I think should have more recognition. It's not the best in all aspects, but it kept me hooked until the very last episode where I literally stayed up all night to finish it. It was sweet, and dramatic. I think Que Sera Sera is worth watching if you're wanting to see a heartfelt romanctic sort of drama.
It Started With a Kiss and It Started With a Kiss 2/They Kiss again are two of the most amazing dramas I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot. The story in They Kiss Again was basically the continuation of the first one. This drama was perfect the way it was, and really proved that you don't need a fancy storyline to have a great story. They Kiss Again was just about the married life of an unlikely couple, and it was truly beautiful. There were times when I absolutely hated the drama, and others where I loved it to pieces. It starts out great but after 5 or 6 episodes, the story starts to lag. The main character Xiang Qin (I know I totally messed the name up) was really annoying, and I couldn't stand her, and Zhi Shu (Again, I don't know how to spell their names) was colder and colder than he ever was, and seemed to lack personality that he sort of gained in It Started With a Kiss, but despite the lack in character development, the story was beautiful, and the actors did a fantastic job. I loved the music for the 2nd drama, it was good, and very catchy. I will most likely watch both dramas again, because they were so amazing, and explain a lot about love, and make you want to go out and get married (if you aren't already) Great drama :) that I'm sad to see end :(
Ending Planner is one of those dramas...you know, one of those dramas that you never want to end, and it leaves you all depressed because it ends? This sucks. The storyline seems a little strange. Who would ever look at watching a drama about a Mortician? But, the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" really comes into play for Ending Planner. The story is amazing. Each and every episode, no matter how sad it may have been, left a smile on my face. I doubt it is possible to end this drama with it not having any effect on you. Ending Planner was just pure amazement. The actors did great. The family actually felt like a family, and whenever a certain character was feeling an emotion, you could really feel it. Every character had their moment to shine, and they really did. The one person who truly amazed me in this drama was Yamapi. I'm already a huge fan of Yamapi, but my fanitude has totally increased after watching Ending Planner. This has to be his best drama so far. He has grown so much in his acting ability, and it is evident in this drama. Yamapi sings the main song, so..ya! It's amazing. I love it and it will be added to my favorites playlist shortly. You would have to be crazy to not want to rewatch this drama, but I might have to wait awhile before I come back to it. Overall, "whoa" is all I can say. Ending Planner is worth watching.
What to say, what to say..wow, this drama was long. 45 eps...that's crazy. But watching them went by soooo fast. I didn't even realize it when I got to the last episode. The story is great!! It has romance, and a lot of that cliche drama stuff, but also a strong story line about family. The cast was phenomenal. I have to take my hat off for the lady who plays Hyun Soo's mom, and the Grandfather especially. They both had parts in the drama that were specifically designed to let them shine, and they did. Jung In is probably the most adorable lead actress ever, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that she calls Hyun Soo OPPA!!! Not many lead females call their love interest Oppa!!! It was great. I wasn't the biggest fan of the music at first, but as the drama continued on, it grew on me. I wouldn't rewatch this drama, just because it was sooooo long, and there are always new dramas to look forward to, but that doesn't mean this drama wasn't good. It was sweet, funny, romantic, and a family drama that will warm hearts.
