Ikr, this is the only drama I anticipated the most each week, the one that I had to watch it rightaway as soon as they aired, it's gonna be a long long week for sure ;__;
This show, everytime I think they couldn't get any better than they already are, they proved me wrong. More ppl need to watch this show, for me it's the best airing show rn, my current addiction ❤
Am having a serious SLS atm, andwaee.. Jun Soo's letter to Jung eum seriously are so sweet & makes me teared up, while Hong Nam's words to Jung Eum most of the time cringey, lol otokaji x'D
I'm usually against childhood friends into lovers like FMW does because sometimes childhood friends are more precious the way it is than become lovers, but Joon Soo & Jung Eum relationship are so beautiful & I want to see them to go deeper, which's unfortunate because it surely wont happened, lol. I think I needed them to have another drama together just like PSJ & NGM does with HJE because CTJ & HJE surprisingly had a great chemistry & I would love to see them again as the ML & FL.

However, the most important thing is, why is this drama PD or writer or whatever, created such an annoying FL & on tops of that, using violence as their start to built the story between both lead. It's great, but the cast are all men with one womenlike I get it's 1988, but really!!!
I think that mostlikely the case with a crime/detective series with a past setting, probably that was the reality happened atm? There's only 1 woman on Signal & Tunnel as well.

Now I'm on the 4th ep & on the fence from dropping it. Usually I've always give a drama a chance for at least 4 full ep/8 half ep, but the female lead's character in this one is really getting on my nerves, I can't stand her.
Girl, just because the other person did you wrong, then it means the bad things you did (with your 100% mind/ own conscience) is getting any lesser, or even worst makes you an innocent person, so pls stop playing victim. Not only she's foolish, lack common sense, ignorant & stubborn, she can't keep her words as well, ughh.. They need to learn how to make an admirable strong FL character which obviously unlike the FL's character here.
Furthermore, I don't think I like the recent development/direction this drama is heading. I hope it won't be like Jekkyl, hyde & me, where all the development goes to one character but she ends up with the other one instead & that's not until their very last moment.
Remember Nak Won character is trying to forget and move on, she is a complete different character than her younger…
I get that the adult Nakwon def won't be the same person/character like she used to be before her tragic past happened, because none ppl would.
What I meant is, I can't feel her struggle, emotion etc on her acting like the way JKY, NDR & the actress who portrayed the child Nakwon did.
I understand that she barely new in this industry & this is her first main role so I don't blame her for that, I def won't because I can see that she can do well on Misty.
What I hope is, for the writing to be better/tighter, to give her more room to improve so she can portrayed more emotion because from what I see, her scene is very limitedly written to portray a different emotion & it doesn't help with those repetitive scene/flashback which I don't find it necessary to repeat it over&over.
This drama is good, or we may say great, the actors did well but the writing imo need to improve since the pace is too slow & we barely had any progress, I feel like we had 12 ep just for the setup.
While I love this one, I want to be objective as well, am trying to give credits when the credits is due & not when it's not, so pls don't beat me up with what I'm about to say X")
Jang Ki Young & Nam dae rum nailed their roles, a very minimum dialogue but their microexpressions are just everything, it says more than a thousand words. And his tears, gahh.. He deserves all the hugs he could ever get.
Sadly I don't feel the same way w/ Jin Ki Joo's playing adult Nak won. Idk if it's because the adult Nakwon's character is limitedly written or maybe I still can't forget her character in Misty but I think the actress who play teenage Nak Won give her character more justice & made me feel for her more than Jin ki joo's did.
Also the plot is barely moved ever since the adult counterparts taking over the plot, it's too slow w/ repetitive scene, over and over. While it's beautiful & show a lot of heartwrenching moments, sure I appreciated it, but I think the writing can be so much better than that, I feel like now they depend too much on the actors to do their job well (which they did). Am glad that we saw more progress at the end of ep 12 though, so I still had my hopes.
