IKR!! This scene alone was far better acted than many idol dramas with not even a brow moving. His eyes are so expressive... The way he is surprised that "she is not only accepting without prying further but also wants me to continue living when she can easily leave me behind, did I maybe just misjudge her", my my so beautifully warm and fuzzy. Like something inside him just broke and healed at the same time. He needs to hear that doing good deeds makes him a good being even with half-demon blood. Poor baby always thought he would be left alone and killed if anyone knew. I believe this would be his turning point in his feeling for FL, from -28% to maybe 0%? Haha. Can't wait for tomorrow. I remember reading the manhua back in 2020, but when the translations were discontinued, I was really disheartened. Then I discovered on MDL that they are making the novel/mahua into live action in 2022 (or 2023) and I could not be happier. I am extremely satisfied with casting and script - they did a fantastic job. The "Mr black lotus falling in love" is one my all time favourite troupes which is so well executed here. I love the OGMCs as well.
Esther Yu is too cute to be true. I sometimes just wanna hug her and shower her with kisses like I would to my child. She is unbelievably good at getting my maternal instincts kicked in. Ding Yu Xi has been one of the best (if not best) cast for anti-hero type of roles. Outstanding is the word I was searching for. Been following his dramas from "The Romance of Tiger and Rose" and he always exceeds my expectations and then some. His brooding, angry, pouting face is so well perfected - seriously too cute! Tooo CUTE!! My heart is bursting. The body language of both ML and FL actors is so delicate and grounded, their chemistry is very nuanced but present in anticipation. Like the slight head tilt or wavering eyes, that adds so much depth to the tense scenes. U can tell the actors studied the script and felt it.
The last scene in ep 7 was like reading straight out of a novel - top tier acting by ML. The expressions were on point, conveying so much emotion without words. Huge thanks to the whole team LGEF! Ahh to see these character come to life... What a time to be alive! I hope they keep this style and momentum throughout. I genuinely think this has the potential to be the best fantasy cdrama this year. JiÄyĆ³u!!
