I saw that episodes were up and it was already after midnight my time then I told myself I would just check it out for 15 mins....In 3 mins, I was like oh oh (in Joey's voice when he ate his date's chocolate dessert😅) i knew ai was in trouble and i was awake for the next hour and a half! The overall plot might be tropey, but it does deliver quite a bit of unique scenes. I love the 'Hermeś' smile and the FL's manager is a hilarious villain. The only other show I've watched with Yoona was The K2 and I didn't like how her character was written there. This one suits her really well esp when she does the plastic smile. I also love her friends esp the one who has a bossy kid. I will definitely be watching future episodes, they cant come soon enough. I'm sure those in the customer service industry will find it too relatable!
Also, ML's sister hating on him is not entirely 'unreasonable', I'm not condoning it but she obviously feels threatened by his existence alone considering he's a guy and traditionally he wouldn't need to prove himself too much to inherit the company whereas she has been working in that hotel for longer and has more experience but the father insists that they compete regardless
Within those first few episodes you can tell, without even looking up, that there was too much 'middle-aged male' point of view of women in this. Whiny, immature, beauties without brains. There's not even a likeable female character at this point. FL has had 99% of all the embarrassing scenes in this show. That hairstyle on Wu Qian needs to go, she's supposed to be how old again???
I am a little conflicted regarding this show. It had some aspects of it that were truly awesome like Xu Xiao and the comedy esp in the first half of the show. There was so much talk and promise about what Xu Feng Nian can do and how gifted and clever and talented he is but........I felt that most of it ended up being just big talk with little action. There was little that was done to show that our Prince could truly walk the talk. As a result, its a pity that most of the impressive fight scenes actually did not include him as he was always spitting blood after one hit. His strategies were still ok but Xu Xiao's always seemed superior. I liked XF's character but there was nothing much to offset his arrogance which he often exhibited, making it difficult for to actually love him. Female lead wasn't spared from this oversight either because in as much as I loved her character, she didn't have much to work with. Her being oblivious to her love for XF was cute and fun to watch on the most part, but then it dragged on for too long. I am sure season 2 may show her doing a little more but that's if it happens...with cdrama, who knows! There were also too many incidences where XF was unnecessarily exposed to danger only to be lucky to survive. I havent read the original book but somehow I feel that the screenwriter did not do enough justice. Don't get me wrong, the show is still entertaining to watch and way better than gazillions of cdramas out there, unfortunately. Just felt it would have been awesome in the right hands!
I have watch this like 6 times already and I keep coming back. I know many don’t like it because it doesn’t…
I also personally liked him in Legend of Fei despite his age difference with Zhao Li Ying. Although there were few kissing scenes, his character there was very flirty, charismatic and playful and I found their romance and loyalty to each other quite endearing.
Yep! Didn't realise how petty I was until I gave this show a 9......because of Kim Ji hoon and his manly 90s sexy vibe that made him quite unforgettable tbh. His visuals left me hypnotised 🥵
Just stumbled on this new drama by chance and so far I'm loving it. Its nice to watch something that isn't a slow burn romance for once. Only 3 episodes in and these 2 are already lighting my screen on fire 🔥. Can't wait for the next episodes.
Having an understanding of cults I feel is a necessary prerequisite to be able to appreciate how accurate the portrayal of a cult was on this show. Those feelings of frustration and not reconciling the actions of the adults are spot on because on the most part, thats what it looks like to the person viewing from the outside. Its obviously more complex underneath the surface. Most of the times, cults prey on people who are at their lowest and sometimes just naturally have a tendency to be brainwashed because of upbringing, lack of self esteem etc.... I appreciate the actors for bringing this to life and what a masterpiece 👏 . Btw, S Korea has had a massive problem with cults over the years so they would probably do it better.
I haven't even seen the romance yet but my heart is already full! I really appreciate non-toxic storytelling that still remains realistic. So many lovely supporting cast inc grandma and the 4 babies ❤️...I don't want this show to end 😢
