Actually you are wrong about the kiss. It's mentioned in the first extra chapter of the novel.
From the novel:

"The youth was stunned, while Lu Bowen glared with rage.

Fan Xiao put on an expression of belated regret: "This kiid doesn't know yet that you and You Shulang aren't a real couple? I thought....My apologies, I spoke out of turn."

.....

Also:

"Fan Xiao wedged a leg and a voice full of grievance into the narrowing gap of the closing door: "I'm not being baselessly jealous. You two.....on Chinese New Year's day....."

"We didn't kiss." You Shulang used his foot to kick Fan Xiao's leg out, "It was just a staged angle."

The heavy metal door finally clicked shut. Fan Xiao leaned against the door with a smile; he rapped his knuckles against the door panel a few times, saying softly and slowly: "I know you didn't kiss, but I just wanted to hear you say it with your own mouth."

They were not in a real relationship actually and the kiss never happened - it was just staged.

Maybe he/she means rating the series on MDL.
