A Round Trip to Love is the title of the book, then adapted into the movie with the same name while the series adaptation changed the name to "Double Helix"

I think my gripe with this comparison is people who came from watching Revenged Love and expecting the same thing from double helix and was surprised it was more intense, so they blame double helix for being too much even though IT IS pretty much different genre. It's like bringing the wrong people who expected something different.

again, I see a lot of people saying this series normalizing or saying he was not wrong when the show did neither. So, again, I didn't know what's the problem. Which is again, the problem is you making the comparison with Revenged Love which is totally different genre. They are romcom, not dark romance.
Well,if only they didn't add the rape thing I would have easily given it a 10 😔, I think they need to understand…
nope, definition of a genre isn't what you or I decided what's true. besides, it's not really contradict itself cause abusive relationship does exist irl and refusing to talk or even represent it in media isn't helping the issue but hiding the issue from coming to light and promoting ignorance instead.

the genre is Dark Romance, so it is pretty much a thing and a recurring topic on this genre. Revenged Love is a romcom, so totally different genre, and I'll never get why people cluster both of them together.
I agree with every word, that's exactly what I kept thinking through my watch. Lu Feng is like a typical abusive…
you're out of luck, the best translation was nuked by wattpad ten years ago, and the author did try to reupload it, but it only got to 10 chapters I believe. there were other translators tried to translate it, but there was this translator who attacked everyone translating anything he translated (despite him just got to translating the piece mind you) and basically got every other A Round Trip To Love translation nuked from the internet as well. His translation wasn't even that good, and his website got nuked from the orbit as well, so no one can have good things. sigh...
alternatively, if you want, there is a link I can give you if you want me to DM you. It'll give you a link to download the pdf, which uses 1-10 chapters from acupofmemory and the rest of vol 1-3 from megajive.
If they did this in the book, I will agree with you, but he's not the obsessive homicidal maniac he is in the book. A lot of the stuffs often got, "Oh actually, I didn't do that, it's just an act to make you jealous."
I see this as another way of the movie version to be like, "Oh actually, he isn't that bad cause he had reason for acting to make Yi Chen jealous"

I will say, they definitely sanitize Lu Feng a lot on the show, even Yi Chen morphed into a Mary-sue. The Novel is a lot more... strangely enough to say this, human. The characterization of both Lu Feng and Yi Chen are pretty well written which I found lost a lot in the series from some minor and major things they changed.
If you don't mind reading the novel, it's definitely very well recommended, one of the best piece of Dark Romance imo
It's crazy that I feel the need to say this, but as this series has an 8/10 rating, maybe I should. It is not okay…
I don't know what part of it normalizes it... They literally had fight on the first SA, Yi Chen ran away on the 2nd SA, and he got shot after he got kidnapped. It literally split the community apart on whether to hate Lu Feng or not during the story because the story did the opposite of normalizing it, it showed you how bad it is to do that to your partner.

I don't know what's people obsession putting Revenged Love in the same theme as double helix when they are not. Especially the film adaptation, Revenged Love is definitely more romcom than dark romance.

I think you're just not the target audience. Some people who love Dark romance do understand the point of the SA scenes in these genre. Not everything is sunshine and rainbow irl afterall.
YES! I ABSOULUTELY AGREE. I also made a discussion talking about Yichen's behavior and the stockholm syndrome…
It's LanLin's other book, technically I direct sequel to Nowhere to be Found, but I would describe the story as FengChen family story, so it is a sequel to A Round Trip to Love. You might want to read Love Late too to if you want to know what happened to Ke Luo during the period of Pandora's Box since they are happening at the same time.
Anyway, you should definitely read it because there is one thing about LanLin, she never had the relationship as white or black. So for me, it's not about looking at it through "good/bad" lense, but through "what is the impact of this decision" lense.
FengChen state of relationship was literally stand on with tappers, and it was merely implied at the end of vol.3, but it was a lot more portrayed in Pandora's box, that is before LinJing arrive. But LinJing is the character from Nowhere to Be found so I suggest you read that first, I personally didn't like the book that much because it was clearly LanLin's earlier work and a "prototype" to A Round Trip to Love, but it was the beginning of LanLin and had all things LanLin well known for, just not as refined.

a decision chosen out of deep love can still be wrong. Lu Feng himself said in Pandora Box that YC is making a bad decision by choosing him because he always made YC sad. (But he did say he wished YC is keeping that bad decision)
I rather have many OSTs than one song being repeated at every single screen change or moment change for 8 episode. Normal show, sure, but shows where song/singing is the main plot? only having 2 is kinda rude. On good day they would do ATOTS and have different actors sing the ost.
I think ever since Gavin they start making more songs, cause girl, where are that budget gone.
The list isn't long;AddictedUncontrollable loveKill to loveTo my shoreRevenged love (The novel was toxic compared…
Although addicted and Revenged Love did have toxicity, I don't think I'd ever put them into Dark Romance genre like A Round Trip to Love, To My Shore, or even Kill to Love.
It's just that the Author does love to romanticize SA, and the SA serves no plot reason other than "I love you too much" or have any meaningful impact.
Case in point, Chai Jidan's latest adaptation of Revenged Love and Addicted (Stay with me) got rid of the SA and most of its toxicity, and it changed nothing to the story. She herself told you not to read her previous works and, I believe, told you to wait for the rewrite works (at least Stay With Me).
You can go to https://acupofmemory.blogspot.com/
it's the original translator, but it's only 10 chapter.
https://megajivetranslations.wordpress.com/
has it up to 3rd volume, but you have to change the url I believe by adding wordpress.
