“Traces of the Hand” is a 2017 web drama series that is based on webtoon of the same name. It is a three-season series, starring Ryu Hwayoung, with Season 1 also being titled “Traces of the Hand.” Season 2 is “Girl’s War” about surviving a girl group audition, and Season 3 is “Fortuneteller’s Secret Recipe” about a young woman who develops the ability to foretell the future.

The theme is homosexuality between women. Directed by Yasuzô Masumura, it stars Ayako Wakao, Kyôko Kishida and Eiji Funakoshi.
Sonoko, a bored housewife entering middle age, meets a young girl, Mitsuko, at a private school of art. Sonoko paints a portrait of her, and when she invites Mitsuko to her house, they end up locked in a passionate embrace. Unable to think rationally about what she wants, Sonoko becomes steadily more obsessed with her new lover. Jealousy, blackmail and suicide enter the picture.

Mayumi is pestered at school. He is narcoleptic, someone with a chronic sleep problem. One day he decides impulsively to commit suicide and climbs on the school roof. One of the teachers, Murai, is also on the roof. The film suggests a rape scene. Then Murai says he hopes he has given Mayumi a reason to continue living: hate. Mayumi abandons his plan. On top of that he is now interested in Murai and starts following him. Murai decides to stop teaching. In the meantime, Mayumi meets Marii, the girlfriend of his hated classmates. Then a strange three-cornered relationship develops between Murai, Mayumi and Marii.
"Hong Kong Night Club" centers on a gay journalist, Takegami (Goro Kishitani) and his straight photographer Shibata (Shingo Katori). The two men are assigned to cover the "dark side" of Hong Kong. They soon find it. After their arrival they are to be found clinging onto the back of a truck escaping from a triad boss (Ng Chi Hung) and his boys, whom they photographed doing a drug deal. In order to escape the bad guys, Shibata dons a dress and together they pretend to be a Japanese couple on their honeymoon. But the triads have Takegami's passport and are taking any Japanese tourists off the street in their manhunt, the duo run into the Lost Castle Club. Once in, they unwittingly become a cabaret act and in the process meet Cora, the resident singer. She falls for Takegami, Takegami falls for his bedmate Shibata (now Maggie) and Shibata falls for Cora.
