The story starts out with a lot of promise. Its intriguing fantasy. Then we throw in a lot of the familiar elements and watch as those meander and interrupt the promising story. All the while we are rooting for this pretty couple to connect. And there are a lot of characters and family to be introduced.
The casting is excellent. I thought most of them were well developed. Some just dropped off.
Music was better than some but not memorable. I had hoped that Lee Jong Hyun would contributing. That might be a business decision.

It was lovely to see such an unhappy man throw himself into loving the girl. He was a joy to watch.

I blame the writer and director. The story needed a lot of questions answered. And they never were. The director had some fine actors to work with and never let them show their range.

I watched the last episode twice. I went to sleep and woke up with the answer to the ending. You might have to do the same.

Turn Down the sound

I'm never a reviewer. I cant take this apart piece by piece. But i will try to make my recommendation as to how to watch this.
The story unfolds beautifully and kept my attention immediately.
You will see people that seem to genuinely interact with each other. you will see long pauses and long hesitations in the dialogue. It is stretched almost to a breaking point. you will hang on their every word.

Do not be afraid. Luckily the subtitles can keep up - very easily. If you are listening for their dialogue, you will not be able to hear it because of the poorly inserted music. I believe it is all in English and I know it is loud. The music drowns out the voices. I hated the monotonal singer Rachael Yamagata covers and really bad Bruce Willis singing Save the Last Dance For Me. If I never hear Stand By Your Man again, it will be too soon. This show ruined some songs for me.
After learning to turn down the music and letting the sound just quietly go on in the background, I read and watched this drama.
The style and wardrobe are minimal and drab. They practically sleep in their coats. And sleep in their clothes. It never improves until the absolute last scene.
The end two episodes were disappointing. I rewatched them hoping that i was missing something. I wasn't. But I would rewatch the drama again.

I've had to watch this film 3 times. There is still a scene where I scream and cry. It just haunts me. The whole story is haunting. I watched it for Cha and watched it again for Go kyung pyo. Cha as a trans man is almost believable.
