Yes, J actors generally aren’t afraid to explore their roles, like Machida Keita, many CM fans were surprised to find out that Karube in Alice in Borderland is him. And don’t expect they would always look perfect and neat on screen like actors in kdramas for example. I said kdramas because in Kmovies they tend to have more realistic looks. Btw I love Cdramas too but I mostly watch their costume dramas, the production value is great and the plot is quite engaging but not really makjang type. The downside is I can’t resist the urge to bingewatch all the 40++ episodes.
Oh there are alot of japanese BLs that are not centered around school kids like pornographer, method, mood Indigo…
Hi, have you tried Ossan’s Love and What did you eat yesterday? The characters are older than CM’s, and the later is more like Slice of life drama, very refreshing. Both are on Netflix.

omg what a mess, I want Jdramas to get more exposure but this kind of fans make me worry. I know FujiTV kinda ride on CM’s popularity, but as far as I can remember, the first time they announced the cast, it’s confirmed that Eguchi and Akaso would be the leads, a few moments later, Machida and other actors were said to be the supporting roles, logically Kurodachi couple are very unlikely to happen.
FYI if you enjoy CM, there is a cute BL drama airing this season called Kieta Hatsukoi, many CM fans seem to enjoy it.

I’m glad you finally gave Jdramas a chance. Tbh we can’t say Jdramas fall into the same category. We can get comical, silly type manga/anime adaptation, but there are also the serious or realistic ones, which usually have better acting. Jdramas are different with Thai dramas, where BL actors are mainly star in BL dramas, sadly many BL fans fail to understand this.

I'm aware of the tendency of the rating too since I'm also a long time fan of jdramas. But compared with other airing Jdramas from this season, its rating is considered low, though it was quite anticipated before.
this year isn’t yet to end, but this show is easily my favorite from 2021. It’s too damn relatable, all the characters aren’t perfect but lovable. I love everything about this show, the writing, the acting, the chemistry, the dialogue, it flows so naturally. And for the first time, I’m impressed with Arimura’s performance. Furukawa Kotone, I love her since Kono koi atatamemasuka but this show made me her fan, As for the the trio, I have nothing to say, this is what you get when you cast 3 of the best young actors in their generation, an explosive performance.
Okay, it's not that slowpaced compared with other kdramas which I tend to fast forward a lot. The production value is great, acting is okay, and I love that the zombies run, it adds the suspense. The Joseon era setting also adds some freshness into the drama. My problem with this is that the ML or the crown prince has a very weak character, I blame it on the writing though. Many side characters are sometimes too dumb. It's also somewhat predictable. My conclusion: worth watching especially if you like zombie themed shows since it has the thrill, but the characters are rather forgetable. Let's see if the second season gets better.
in my mind jun ho survived that fall and is currently recovering
Personally I want to see the detective survive, but this plot is seriously overused, in dramas/movies if you see someone fall from a cliff into the water, as long as you don’t see the dead body, 90% they would survive.
Yay the rating climbed back to 8, I know jdramas are generally rated lower compared with other east asian dramas, but sometimes it still hurts me when very enjoyable dramas barely get 8 and someone who is new to Jdramas would think that they are inferior.
those VIPs ruined my binge watching!!! The production could have hired better and seasoned Korean actors to act…
they could hire top actors like Lee Byung Hun, Lee Jung Jae and even Gong Yoo as a cameo but using meh actors as the VIP's, and I don't get it why they're supposed to be foreigners, or white to be more specific. There are many Asian chaebols out there, and it would be more acceptable to cast competent Korean actors if that's the case.
I'm only on first episode but already hooked. Judging from the pilot, it looked like Shoplifter with revenge plot. It's dark and quirky but good. Thanks to the casting director for casting Nao, she fits the role like a glove, her style and make up here is just a chef's kiss. Isomura Hayato is good as usual, and I just realised that he fixed his teeth, he really grows on me lately. Also all the gang members seem fun, looking forward to seeing their backstory though it would be better to keep my expectation low since it's only 23 minutes per episode.
My review was the sane about Kenty... he gets better in the latter episodes. His biggest asset, was his voice,…
exactly, he could melt every woman's heart with that voice. Also kudos to the stylist, he looked sooo fine with that hair, both the casual and the formal one.
