Good Grief

"The Young Madam will find a way." I feel like that's this drama in a nutshell.

The unwavering belief these girls have in Lanxiang AND each other is one of my favorite parts of this drama. The girls have all carved out a family with each other that extends beyond the confines of their homes. These connections are for life. (And building a network of women they could rely on would have been priceless in that time) I especially loved seeing all the girls READING by candlelight. LX gave them courage to learn, but they along with Yuchan guiding them, took the initiative.

I'm still waiting for Zhao to take back some control and learn to read. I think she'd feel much more empowered if she could read her own account books, any book really (look how far the other girls have gotten in the time Z has been gone). In the scene btw her and LX, it was like her eyes had been opened to a whole new world, she was hungry for that new window of independence. Imagine if she had read those words herself. She’d feel like she could rule the empire. Which is a scary thought...

I must say, everyone's acting is really good in this drama

I love seeing Ji'er grow throughout the show; her acting in the recent episodes really impressed me.

The best storylines of this drama really have been Lanxiang with all the different female characters. The scenes with Zhao Xingtang, Ji-er, and the other women were truly women understanding each other and helping each other with their own methods. 🥹

This is much more lighthearted compared to Misaeng. The way I see it is, this would be the ml in Misaeng in the middle of his career. It doesn't show the struggles of being an intern anymore, but this is relatable to someone like me in her 30s who has gained some experience but not a veteran yet. I love that even if I'm not in a corporate job, this is still very relatable to anybody who work with people in general.

maybe because people binged on weekend, so they slow it down on Tue Wed since traffic is lighter on those days, and then turn it back up as weekend is approaching

wow this series is a gem 💎 for everyone but especially for office workers like me. There are amazing lessons everywhere, very well written and executed!

Romance? no. Possible romance by the end? Yes - possible. , But doesn't even rise to the level of "subplot." at least, not as of Episodes 1-4.

This just keeps getting better with every episode..can't wait for 5 and 6
