I really enjoyed this version's Crown Prince - played by Ni Song Yang - I like an older cutie! And I liked his good modern ending. Gives us all hope -

The trio of schoolmates was one of the worst AND the best parts of this drama. So very, very odd.

All eight episodes are up on Viki but . . . I'm not sure if they made this any better. Is this an anti-drug sponsored web drama? It's very bad!

This was quite a charming movie - I especially liked how the two ages interacted. Wallace - well, even if I love him, he was a little too stiff for this role. The Other Wallace, now, he'd have been perfect!

Quite frankly, some of the best special effects I've seen in a Chinese film. If this had a slightly clearer story line, this version could be kind of a Avengers Assemble kind of movie. Loved Ni Ni!

Not great, not too bad. Really, this would have been a great television series because they shoved so many war movie tropes into one film. I'm glad I saw it but glad I didn't spend anything for a ticket.

It has the same production company and screenwriter as Scarlet Heart.

She is so much better of an actress than what she's been in so far! Basically, she's shining and bringing up both dramas. Can't wait to see more.

Ah, this is the drama that's designed to be watched quickly (one minute episodes!) and vertically (narrow screen) on your phone!!

I'm looking for a bad end for Ming Hui - I don't usually cheer for a bad death but I hope she does. In the original-or-just-extremely-similar (!) l Scarlet Heart, you can understand why villains do things. Here, she's just a nasty person!

This guy is rocking it as the Crown Prince! I love that he plays his age and I’ll look forward to seeing more of him.

This guy has the tsundere look down pat - enjoying him in Back to the Qing Dynasty.

I found a note about the novel this is based on, The Glass Maiden (Love and Redemption) , over at Shushengbar.net but - it doesn't seem quite like the drama will follow the novel. https://www.shushengbar.net/?p=263

If this is the one based on Yangsze Choo’s debut novel, The Ghost Bride, it's going to be great! Read it in the meantime!

I'm watching it unsubbed but - she does refer to him as gege/brother. Only I think he must be like "older brother-like boy" or an adopted brother because they are awfully friendly.
