Its not a reboot. Its not a spin off. The way to put it... It seems to be S2 where S1 never got made. Story starts in the middle but does a good job to re-explain S1 materials.

This new 2023 season really captures the spirit of the manhua comics. I thought they just hired some shoe-in for the role of Xun-er, but this new actress can really act. Did u guys see her cry in ep 5/6 when she thought Xiao Yan died in the fire? That's some really powerful acting and facial emotions there!

Chinese authors are the biggest copycats in the world. These days every single author is copying Jin Yong in some form or another.
Nobody in Chinese donghua fights with a huge arse sword except Xiao Yan and Yang Guo. Nobody has (initially) their female lover a much more powerful martial artist than them except Xiao Yan and Yang Guo.
Tencent took the clue and went further. If you look at S1 of the anime, Xun Er wears almost the exact same pink/light purple outfit as the Dragon Lady of the anime Condor Heroes. That was released in 2001 I think, so Tencent had plenty of years to look up that anime and copy their dress style.
The only thing missing in Fights Break Sphere is the Giant Condor. Who needs a Giant Condor when you got your own wings?

But now it's S2 and Xiao Yan reunites with Xun-Er and pretends she never tried to kill him... Of course NOT because it's not the S2 of the 2018 drama but a parallel universe S2.
BTW, to all the NOOBs who don't know. Xun-Er eventually marries Xiao Yan and becomes his primary wife (he may or may not have more than 1 wife, but definitely Xun-Er is his primary). Go look at Douluo Continent (Soul Land) anime, XiaoWu and TangSan are lovers and they call each other brother and sister!
I'M CONFUSED. I only started watching this drama today. Didn't Xun-Er kill off Xiao Yan at the end of the previous live action drama? How can they be lovey-dovey towards each other again and Xiao Yan pretending she never fatally murdered him? Unless it's a parallel universe continuation of the previous series...
Anyways, I very much like this drama for its light-heartedness. I CHOOSE this drama over THE LAST IMMORTAL. That one I'm dropping for being too serious and unbalanced lead characters!
It's got the same art style as Longest Promise which the CCP banned from receiving a rating on Douban (or at least banned for several months after it finished airing)!
(BTW, I haven't seen this drama yet. I will see it tonight on my wall projector...

The premise of this drama is really stupid. How can candlesticks have the property of inducing time travel? This is the reason why I never watch any Korean drama... Only Koreans could come up with something so outlandish.
Also, stupider is the (Chinese) company that licenses such works for a remake.
If the script writer of THIS remake was any good, the MC would have visited a gypsy magic shop. He wanted to run away right away, but the gypsy tugged on his shirt sleeve and convinced him to stay and make some candles. THEN at least you know time travel was caused by GYPSY MAGIC not some ordinary hand-made sticks at some department store in an ordinary mall!

Could be the "Tencent schedule". Hope you all know the maximum number of episodes Tencent will release is 5/week. It means 2 days out of 7 there are no new VIP episodes. Some dramas may only see 3 new episodes/wk. Anime are even worse, only 1 new episode/wk.
This drama is an EMBARASMENT to the intellectual property. The anime is like 100x more superior to this abomination of a live action. I thought DouLuo Continent live action was bad. Snow Eagle drama takes BAD to a whole new level. ALL of YOU go skip the drama and watch the anime. I guarantee you you will like the anime more than Soul Land 1 anime!

BTW peeps I watched this movie on my bedroom wall using a cheap BUT good 720p projector I bought from Aliexpress. The closest thing to actually seeing the movie in the theater and more convenient too!
If you want the same exact projector I bought search HY300 projector on Aliexpress. You won't regret the purchase...
1. LMAO casting Naran (mixed Russian model) as nine-tailed fox demon. No self-respecting Chinese lady wants to be cast as someone's sex pet! I guess this is one of the negatives, they always leave the bad roles to foreigners!
2. Holy smokes we need more Nezha scenes. Those action sequences where his fire wheels come out are the best part of the movie. I haven't watched a Superman movie since Brandon Routh version (Man of Steel can go to hell). Nezha fulfills my Super-person with superpowers needs, but not enuf we need more of him flying around doing super deeds!
3. Drama has too much of Tencent bad taste in the mouth (too much sexual connotations of Su Da Ji character, too unbelievable ppl get beheaded easily then in part II they're back alive and kickin -- Just look at Joy of Life Fan Xian got stabbed straight in the ab but then in part 2 he unbelievably lives, too much confusion stuff happen you're shown the end result then they do a flashback of what really happened 5 minutes later). These are the bad aspects of the movie. If it was an Alibaba production, the story would be more linear not needing flashbacks/rewinds to explain things, there would b less sexual connotations when Su Da Ji appears on the screen, and ppl wouldn't get hurt so easily and if they got stabbed in the ab like Fan Xian of JoL or beheaded, they usually stay dead...
4. The ENG sub on subscene sux, replaced all the ppl's names with Vietnamese. If you can ignore and re-time the sub, movie is quite watchable...
Anyways, enuf of my rants.
My verdict: 9.5/10! Lookin foward to Parts II&III!!!
