This question was raised a few times but quick breakdown from comments below:1.Hot blooded 30ep2.Eastern Heretic…
LOL. You think CCP rules are leaky like water? I highly URGE Tencent to go ahead release them all this year. The FINES they'll face will be more than the profits they can obtain airing them.
Tencent scared shietless of the CCP. That's why they filmed 60~ episodes of Lost You Forever but could only show the last few EPs one year later from LAST summer!
Get real! Dramas over 40 episodes are banned in China. The minimum delay a part two can beging airing is 1 yr…
Yeah, so get REAL!! As per Chinese Communist Party rule, a part two of this drama CANNOT be aired until 1 year later. Which means next Summer is the earliest you can watch the conclusion of this forgettable mediocre drama.
I have to say kudos to the casting. Each character in the S1 season of this show had a level of athleticism that makes you believe they can really fight.
Compare this to Fights Break Sphere S2 drama where Xun-Er appears as a wishy-washy weakling that can't do nothing but assume fancy poses while the CGI did most of the "fighting" for her. Whereas in the anime XunEr is really a hidden grandmaster assassin/fighter!
Even in the Legend of Shen Li, Zhao Lying fails to convince me she could do any form of Kungfu in real life. Her fights were rather very obvious wirefu/using body harnesses combined with fast forwarded slow motion fighting.
In other words Youku action oriented dramas appear more authentic than similar ones from Tencent!
It's the best imitation of Yang Guo + Xiao Long Nv I've seen to date (minus all the BAD parts like rape, etc).
They also made a live action drama aired a couple of years. I haven't seen it, I don't know how good or close to the anime it is. BUT I prefer Immortality over the original suckage Condor Returns by Jin Yong!
(P.S: You guys don't know how clever the author of Immortality is. Basically, there is no Guo Jing in this work. So author paired Yang Guo off with Huang Rong right away. Genius move! Then Huang Rong dies part way thru Season 1, which only leaves YG left to romance/bond with Xiao Long Nv. The lady in white you see in the first 10 seconds of the anime, that's Xiao Long Nv right there! Can also see monk with flying wheel in the OP intro sequence! Instead of Yang Guo ride giant Condor, he rides giant crane...)
How old is Feng BaoBao? Did the web comics ever revealed her age? This kind of immortal self-healing non-aging character must be a million years old when she met ZCL, or she was some fallen deity from the God realm...
I have never seen a mediocre drama drift higher on Douban after some time. It's usually the outstanding dramas that does this!
Usually, it's the foolhardy hardcore fanatics that rush to see a drama as soon as it airs (and raves about it with overtly optimistic and FAKE reviews on Douban). The second wave of viewers make for a more objective audience (to bring the score down to its actual worth)...
what about an adaption on the return of the condor heroes with yang guo and xiao long nu
It's a stupid idea. I don't think any modern actress wants to play a character that got raped, unless they're willing to forgo their career and forever play unimportant side characters afterward like the actress who played Ye HongYu that got raped in Ever Night.
Of course actresses like Mao Xiao Hui played it smart. As soon as she finished her work on the now defunct New Condor Returns that seems to have been canceled after it completed filming. She went ahead and starred right away in another drama (The Twin Flower Legend) where the SECOND female lead got raped NOT her thus transferring the stigma to the other actress...
Plus there are much better Jin Yong imitation works out there where the FL don't got raped. The closest imitation of Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nv is the anime Immortality that already got a drama version but I don't think it was very good so deserves another remake. Plus it's set in a xianxia world unlike the stupid wuxia genre that already became extinct and companies like Tencent are just beating on a dead horse...
5/5 - 12.3% 4/5 - 23.1% 3/5 - 35.4% <-- Look at this FAT BELLY in the middle 2/5 - 19.1% 1/5 - 10.1%
Look how many people voted/rated:
Joy of Life Season 2 (2024) - 300K votes I Am Nobody (2023) - 120K votes The Last Immortal (2023) - 60K votes Legend of Heroes (2024) - 16K votes <-- look at the shockingly low viewership count The Legend of Shen Li (2024) - 290K votes
In other words, this drama blows (low rating , low viewership)!
Wuxia is a dead-end. Most people now prefer xianxia set in ancient time/modern time!
The greatest author in grandpa's time became a HUGE joke in modern times!
I love everything about this drama except the main character Zhang Chu Lan he is really annoying and dorky i really…
What you mean? I thought his expression when he woke up and found Baobao sitting right next to him in school... "Whoa!" spot on. At the tournament when he found out Baobao's monthly salary was several times higher than his... I don't think another actor could have expressed better!
I only started watching this series a few days ago. I'm up to ep8 today.
Ppl who are complaining about the drop in quality and the obvious appearance of green-screening in the second half... Did it ever occur to you that maybe you watched it from a bad video source?
For example Ep1 looked really blurry and grainy on YT (Youku's official channel). I went and sourced the 4K raw videos from an unnamed online source, appended ENG subtitles from another website. And voila it's giving me a much better viewing experience.
Is it really true the second half is bad production quality rather bad video encoding (ie. not the producer's fault but the websites like YT using low quality encoder)?
Can anyone explain the source materials? The S1 style and story felt so "Korean TV drama". BUT wait, I don't think a Korean work ever featured Mt Wudang which is a large part of Chinese culture...
So, I'm confused was the web comics this show is based on written by a Korean or Chinese?
What a cheater. They used (recycled) the same OP/ED credit sequences as S1. At which point it's no longer a proper S2 but an extended S1. I think the Chinese censors should crack down on this kind of cheating behavior which stipulates that a season cannot be longer than 40 episodes.

You can see here Naran who played as Su Da Ji in Creation of the Gods I, is one of the cast in his upcoming July 26 movie:

Are you kidding me? Jin Yong is the bubble gum stuck on the BOTTOM of Tong Hua's shoes!

...not for everyone my rear end. Half the Chinese population already watched and raved LYF!! Only a few crazies and old-timers go see LoH!
