I'm never one that gives 2 shits about bottom/top but some of these writers go out of their way to make sure there is such the distinction that THAT becomes who the character is & all of their traits. I'm not one for the "power bottom" label, but in a lot of cases I wish they were LOL. I will root for the power bottom every time because they are usually one of the few characters that are written where we see all of their sides.
But I feel the damsel in distress thing is annoying in hetero storylines as well so I don't put it all on the BL world. And I'm not saying it doesn't have its place. But sprinkling it here & there is much more appealing, IMO, then drowning them in weakness.

I have really been engaged with this series & as you said, it's a change from the norm. There are some scenes or maybe dialogue that I'm a little eh on but I am genuinely drawn to it.
LMAO my Benz attack is clearly unprovoked. It started from the moment I saw him in Coffee Melody. I don't truly have a justifiable reason for my absolute hatred for him but something inside me awakens when I see his face & it takes all of me not to reach through the screen & rip his face off. He makes me feel...uncomfortable...like icky. My violent tendencies towards him are vile & over the top & I should probably seek counseling for it but...ain't nobody got time for that.
There are only 2 others that bring out a "I'm not feelin him...ever" vibe & I truly try to work through it. I've watched their shows but I just can't seem to really like them...Earth (Moonlight Chicken) has bothered me since the first time I saw him in Water Boyy & Singto, I don't hate them the way I do Benz though LOL so that's good.

Exactly...& most of the stories ARE nice & simple & easy, but when you watch a ship from the start grow into a monster, me, you, we all want a great story for them that showcases what a powerhouse they can be!
