Guys do you realize what a big deal is end of ep 7 and start of ep 8? In usual sexist plot of most dramas, we see the fantasy of little girls that their dad is their lover and takes care of them ALWAYS. FL is this woman-child taken care of the calm, stoic and blindly loyal sugar-daddy robot ML who just stays on her side no matter what stupidities she does, HE ALWAYS CHASES HER AND GUIDES HER LIFE bc she does not have common sense to be an independent person. (This fantasy is fed by the reality of real life where men do have all the power and resources and are fickle and spoiled and likely to bail out on women and/or exploit them, so women dream of easier life and not having to fight all the time. But to solve that sexism, the solution is not sexism in the opposite, women using men. The solution is BEING TRULY EQUAL. Which this drama - maybe unintentionally - showed)).

In this drama, FL was lying and majorly bsing and ML did not eat her bs. He said - OK - you say you want me to leave - ok I will honor what you want - so I am out. And he left. For real.
That automatically puts the ball in her court to DECIDE IF SHE IS GONNA PLAY GAMES OR NOT.
ML forced her into growing up. He busted her bs. Busting someone's bs is a wonderful, very rich plot

PPS - trauma survivors, remember First Man and how Baek Ho just kept smiling and kissing Dumb Mi's big fat faulty as@ while she was telling him off, doing one stupid thing after another, keeping secrets from him that led to him in a coma several times, never being nice to him and not even saying I love you after they did pair up, letting him chase her and save her ALL THE TIME....
WELL LOVE ON THE MENU HAS STOPPED ALL SUCH BS AT THE END OF EP 7. THE DUDE SAID: OK YOU DONT WANT ME NOR TO WORK FOR THIS RELATIONSHIP, SO I WILL HONOR YOUR WISH AND LEAVE. Imagine if Baek Ho said that

ML and FL are leads for a reason - the leads have most to overcome. To become a lead in a story, you have to be a hero and face your demons and move on to become a better person.
Ep 8 shows us the ugly sides of ML and FL, how much insecure, weak and addicted to easy way out ML and FL are :) and how much inner work they need to do to overcome :)
and this time, ML did not let FL off the hook - which is GREAT!!!!!! this is a new and wonderful development of this drama - FL is forced to quit her lies and be honest and take active role in the relationship -
So ... give them some time - about 3-4 more episodes - to realize how much they are stuck in their own doodoo and to clean it up, before they can come together. Then they will have to overcome MORE trials to prove how strong their love is, e.g. to fight together against taking the kid

I think the early episodes of this drama were a classic sexist cringe, and FL is still quite weak and a liar,
BUT LATEST EPISODES AFTER TIME SKIP ARE GREAT, AND BETTER AND BETTER, I came to really love this drama. Acting and plots (except FL) are AMAZING

btw Once Again was so interesting bc of that actress and her role, the "monastic" who is a very proper person. It was refreshing to have a character who is spiritually inclined and does good karma as much as she can. That kind of influence is rare in dramas

they will have to rotate bc they cannot have comedic ones all the time. Also, even "comedic ones" are comedic in the beggining, and then they turn into melodrama when the sh.t hits the fan and all ugly issues have to be resolved first before the eternal love and peace...

No worries, very soon she will be left at the altar and will need all the help she can get

But... I forgot.. .MJ's BestFriend is interested in her and has loved her and cared for her all these years. ONCE SHE IS CLEAR OF MJ OBSESSION, that will be a green light to him, I think that he will step in to console her. Since he knows her better, seems like you will just watch from the sides

100% agree. She let him chase her, she kept running away, and then she backstabed him and lied to him. She was not a real woman to him, but a ... parasite.
NOW it is her time to grow up and claim him and stand up for HERSELF and for their relationship, to claim him and BE with him in good and bad. If she can. She is really faaaaar off still... so immature

Bio mom is a gold digger and needs karma to catch up with her :) Her husband and daughter are entitled slave masters and also need their karma to catch up :)

CountryBumpkin knows she doesnt love him, and she knows it, she feels NOTHING for him, coming close and touching him all over is NOTHING. And what she said when she proposed is total bs

Same for ML - he clearly cannot stand company of that clingy leech

So they need about 3 eps at least to work out through all their inner egotism and choosing he easy way out.
Any less time and it wont feel natural. Both are LOADED with egotism and complacency.

Esp FL who has a 10 yr history being a liar and backstabber to ML and letting him do all the chasing her, and she running away

All roles but FL are incredibly interesting and all actors except FL are so good in their roles!!!!

Gigolo role is so interesting and the actor is perfect in it. It is a very complex role, going from a rebellious teen to gigolo to a very family oriented person, from someone bitter and disillusioned to someone with dreams and hopes. The actor is fantastic.

So I noticed that his face does not look plastic. He seems to have his own eyes and face. Definitely some good skin care but I dont see surgery. Maybe nose only? 2014 dramas still have actors with hook nose. I havent seen one in a long time. So maybe this one did his nose. But I am not experienced, this is just what I think I am seeing. I could be wrong. I watch dailies and family dramas BECAUSE I do NOT want to see plasticized faces.

So I am saying, you dont need (serious) plastic surgery to look beautiful and to be a great actor. That dude is very very handsome and is a great actor. His role seems real. he is so natural in it.

Also, ex-PlasticSurgen sister - she too doesnt look too much plasticized, and she is a FANTASTIC actress.

Even the ML shows some signs of aging on his neck, but who cares? He is a fantastic actor.

Overall, I am so happy with this drama, it is great!!!! FL is the only sore sport. Her role and the acting are ... blah yuck

Ep 7 and 8 are amazing!!!! Now all character flaws of ML and FL are put on the table open for examination :)

Ok so ML and FL have about 3-4 more eps to clear up their own muck and the relationship muck :) and get together, IF they dont... then the drama will be a flop. Keeping them stuck dating other ppl for too long will kill the drama.
Once they get together, then his mom is gonna take the kid and they will have to fight that for about 10 eps, while that crocodile is dating Dad lmao

The entitlement of elites... That STUPID daughter was THE leach on a man who clearly said NO (but kept her company and hung out with her, the slimey mixed messages whimp always keeping his as@ comfortable)

- so yeah on the second thought... he SHOULD be punished for participating in her games
And her stepmom was so cool to call the spade a spade and tell MJ to stop fooling around

Also, it is fantastic that CountryBumpkin stood up to PlasticSurgeon lmao That was classy! such great acting! and also he busted lies of FL!!! WOW!!! that role is fantastic!

End of ep 7 and start of ep 8 is BRILLIANT!!!! the old sexist toxic plot is just blown away. ML did NOT blindly support stupidities of FL and he did NOT let her play games, saying lies which she does not really mean. **** He gave her exactly what she asked for.**** Now she is upset lmao Now FL now has to grow up and get her act together and redeem herself.

I LOVE IT!!!!! ML demonstrated he is not tolerating lies and games.... and taught her never to lie again but to honestly say how she feels - or ... bear the consequences. He will NOT catch her if she intentionally falls. SEXISM AND CODEPENDENCY, TOXIC WEAK FL ALWAYS PROTECTED BY SMART CALM BLINDLY LOYAL ML - IS OVER

ML gave a clear message - if FL is a weak and a liar, he is not gonna cater to those games and beg her.. he will be out. THat's a very positive message!!!!

Of course the side effect is that the move is too realistic and negative from real life sexism, where men bail out without any effort, and this ML is like that. On one level, I understand him - FL just bailed out as a major jerk 8 yrs ago, disappeared without trace, and is now cussing at him to get lost. Of course he HAS to get lost...
What I dislike is that he relies on his "friends" and social pressure too much
If FL is a sekiya and unsuitable, he still should not ruin his life and marry a stalker just bc it is convenient escape

I am gonna watch the rest of ep 8 now and if ML-FL are dating other ppl it is TOTALLY FINE. FL said so many times, never to see each other, ML honored that. So be it.

ML and FL should be apart up to about ep 12. So give them time. FL was a backstabbing liar all this time. Let her pay for it.

So IF THIS DRAMA IS DONE PROPERLY. ML and FL should be not together until 50/4 = about ep. 12.... Then they should start making active moves to be together... and get together by ep 25. But then their "together" will be tested :)

SO: SINCE ML AND FL ARE STARTING AS TWO HOSTILE STRANGERS WITH A HEAVY PAST AND LOTS OF BUTTER ON THEIR HEAD - ESP FL WHO WAS A LIAR AND BACKSTABBER - and it is only ep 8 - ML and FL need time to kinda clear up the past -

SO GIVE THEM TIME TILL ABOUT EP 12.

This drama has sexist fossil soap from the start, FL is made immature and dumb and FL actress is not great. The saving grace are the interesting side plots of PlasticSurgeon, Gigolo, Gyel, CountryBumpkin and BestFriend and the actors are GREAT. Dad is starting to be fun. The other actors are ok.
and esp ML actor is super skilled actor -
The good thing about this drama is that I saw ML actor for the first time and I really like his acting, he is so lively, expressive, and even charming, he is so fun to watch -
so I left this drama and watched ML's Something About 1%. That drama had AMAZING first 5 episodes. ML actor really shines. Then the drama flops into the sexist gook - dumb FL and stoic ML, Koreans reaaaaaly suffer from huge sexism.

As for this drama, the comments about ep 8 clearly indicate that KBS did NOT fire whoever is making these stupid sexist fossil dramas. HOWEVER, AS I JUST FINISHED EP 7, 8, I DISAGREE WITH THE OPINIONS POSTED HERE - I THINK KBS RESOLVED SEXISM AT THE END OF EP 7. ML GAVE FL EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID SHE WANTED. THAT IS A BREAK FROM ROBOTICALLY LOYAL MLs TOLERATING ALL STUPIDITIES OF THE STUPID FL.
ML PUT THE BALL INTO HER COURT. THE SEXISM IS OVER.

And the audience - the audience has to grow up too. KBS tried to give us a modern drama that addresses real-life men and women - Our Golden Days - AND THE AUDIENCE SHOT DOWN THE PROGRESSIVE INDEPENDENT FL BC SHE WAS TRYING TO TALK THINGS THROUGH WITH ML , So the drama production team backed off and made the FL into the usual dumb

The audience wants to see a dumb moron FL who is just smart enough to let a great guy chase her and catch her. HEY WAKE UP THAT IS A TOXIC DELUSION. That is exactly those paperback penny soaps.

So my dear ones, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS TRASH WE ARE SEEING.

So for this drama - ML and esp the backstabbing liar super weak FL have to clean up the horrid past. FL has been such a slimey and the butter on her head is like 100000000000lbs heavy. It is going to take some work to clear that up.... And ML is a stupid moron to just blindly trust ppl - esp after he caught his bestie lying to him....
ML is the one who is most stuck - until the end of ep 7. FL made a move forward when she finally stood up to her sister at the end of ep 6.
THEN in ep 8, they both got stuck in their own doodoo addiction to easy way out. Omg it is now all clear who is who. ML and FL are ***majorly weak and immature*** So now that is material for some episodes, for each one to work out and clean up their character flaws. They cant get together before they do that

So I am not bothered that ep 8 shows muck. Imo, GIVE ML AND FL TIME TILL ABOUT EP 12
and if they dont clean up and get together by then, then the drama is fossil trash
