I actually like Zhou Wan from the novel. Yes, she did similar things towards ML but she's very complex character…
You're right. Whenever they adapt a novel with a morally grey or unlikeable male lead, they usually whitewash him to hell and make him pitiful. Meanwhile the FL who acts according to her situation is villainized by the viewers. It has been happening since forever. Like in TTEOM the ML was trash but they victimised him and the FL got all the hate. And in the novel of this drama, LXX was a player who used to use and discard women like objects but they completely removed that aspect of his character among other things.
But tbh even if they show how pitiful the FL's life is and what motivates her to do such things, many viewers still turn against her. It stems from the fact that a huge chunk of drama watchers view romance dramas as self insert fantasies so the FL is scrutinized a lot and must act according to their wishes. She must not have a personality of her own. Meanwhile the ML always evades such criticism and is treated with more sympathy
Can anyone tell me a little detailed synopsis cause it looks like there is a lot going on in the trailer!?!?
The resilient and headstrong top student Zhou Wan (played by Bao Shang'en), in order to save her gravely ill grandmother, turns to her estranged mother for help but is rejected. Desperate, she deliberately approaches her mother's stepson - the unruly youth Lu Xixiao (played by Daniel Zhou Keyu) - hoping to raise money for the surgery.
During the summer after graduation, Zhou Wan and Lu Xixiao slowly develop feelings amid their cautious interactions, pulling each other out of life's hardships time and again. Yet the harshness of reality shatters their radiant youthful summer, and misunderstandings drive them apart.
Ten years later, they meet again in the workplace. Still haunted by old wounds, Lu Xixiao repeatedly challenges Zhou Wan, only to realize that his love for her has never faded. As they join forces to uncover the truth behind a "factory accident," their courageous and genuine hearts finally keep them together.
Mo Li is so good! I hope it brings her more popularity. Also, the smear campaign is almost as bad as the one back in 2023. I hope this ends quickly. And Lu Lu sues tf outta them.
does anyone know why theres so much hate on bai lu rn in china? She's always been one of my favourite actors
Her contract with Huanyu is expiring and she's leaving so Yu Zheng might be upto something. Also, she made some jokes on Keep Running and they were taken out of context. Very inoffensive stuff but they love to hate on actresses over there. I hope she moves past it quickly because if the rumours of her going independent are true it will be bad for her. But she's still immensely popular and Mo Li is performing well
Re-watching after years and I think this might be the only straight Thai drama that I can still enjoy. Yeah the ML can be cold at times and her MIL is a pain in the ass but atleast their romance was believable. Other lakorns are filled with either cheating and/or rape
Decent watch to pass time but how are the lead actors being out acted by the second leads? IU was still okay. Her character was meant to be portrayed like that. But the ML literally can't emote well and I gave him a fair chance despite the negative comments.
Finally completed it and I think it's one of the best cdramas when it comes to the romance between the main couple. I rated it 10 because of my personal enjoyment. However, I feel like some aspects could have been better. While I like how the political part didn't overshadow the romance, it felt very choppy and convoluted . I didn't care about the second leads either. Their storyline needed more development. Also, I don't get the point of making Qian Qian a transmigrator when it adds little to nothing to the story. And tbh it deserved more (and better) fighting scenes. The drama definitely lacked in that aspect especially when the lead is supposed to be a general.
I followed the hype and i am sad to say it did dissapoint. I cannot see in this Drama what so many of you see…
It's an idol drama. How can it be compared to non idol dramas like Joy of Life and Nirvana in fire? It's good for an idol drama and introduced many non cdrama watchers to the world of cdramas and that's why it's hyped.
