I've watched the entire LGIEF series five times. I love dingxin cp like crazy. I also watched moonlight drama…
Agreed!! I need them to have a third collab right now because the number of times I've watched all of their Hello Saturday interactions and the Shining Stars and Moonlight is actually concerning.

I wanted to start this drama because I want to watch something new , it is worth a watch or should drop it .
If you are looking for excitement, drop it. But this is a good drama to unwind and relax, as it's a calming and funny slice of life.

why does this show have such a low rating its actually really really good
Because, although it was very clear before airing that this was going to be a calm slice of life with minimal romance and the story of all leads that also revolves around them eating food, people expected different things and started watching it. So when they didn't like how it was going, they started bashing MKY and LJS and also saying that it was a bad drama.

Title Go Ahead
I've already watched "Family by Choice" is this identical or is it different enough to make it entertaining?
Since FBC is just a Korean remake of this one, it's really similar. All the big plot points and ending are the same. It's just the go-ahead is more comedic and energetic, while FBC has that typical calm and romantic kdrama vibe. Other than that, no difference. So if you are hoping to see changes in the big things rather than small differences and the vibes in the show, I suggest skipping this one.

Chinese drama viewers are so confusing, definitely the best Chinese drama I've ever watched, I can never understand…
Agreed. I only found out about the hate towards this drama recently, and was very surprised, as it remains one of my top dramas to this day. But what makes me the most mad is that Yang Yang recently confessed in an interview that he hasn't taken any roles because he thought people don't want him on their screen due to the hate he got for this and that he wanted to give them a break before returning only this year with his recently aired drama. This both broke my heart and made my blood boil, as he is such a good actor and I've been waiting for another drama of his, only to find out he has spent years thinking everyone hates him. 😢

Title Fireworks of My Heart Spoiler
i am on the 11th ep,and finds out he is not her biological brother. At first he was like bro figure but later in…
He does. And it's not a pure and innocent first love kind of thing, but a psychotic obsession that develops out of control later on in the show.

What a fall-off in the second half of the series. The potential was definitely there, but they somehow decided…
Same. I ended up watching all of the middle episodes on 2x speed, but I really liked the comedy and acting. It got a lot better after episode 26, though.

With Chinese drama, I think you have to take it with a broad perspective. There's always going to be fillers and…
I agree, I feel like maybe the filler for me wasn't too appealing because of how much business and company politics there was when I prefer a more romcom vibe, but I did love the show and think all the actors did an amazing job.

how can you start with "the show was great" and end with "half would drop and hate it":)))
What I meant is that I personally think that the drama is great and I liked it, but because of how harsh the industry is, the drama might not have done as well without Lusi due to the pacing and amount of filler. But I see how that might have come off wrong.

The show was great, but the pacing absolutely sucked. The middle episodes tried to be funny, and while I liked the comedy, the 180-degree genre flip and the filler episodes made me almost drop the drama. The only reason I stayed was for Lusi. Also, the whole problem with Haochen could have been dealt with better timing-wise. It all happened so suddenly, and we barely got to see him get better and fully accept it, nor did we have a scene where Haoming and his parents sat down with Haochen and apologized and explained everything to him, so it makes me feel like Haochen shouldn't forgive them. I also hoped there would be a lot more scenes for a happy ending, like a second wedding for them with her grandma there, SHM's parents meeting her grandma for the first time and having a family dinner kind of thing, and Haochen calling SHM and XY his parents. They also shouldn't have included that plot twist of SHC not actually being his son if the only purpose of it was to have them say he is their son, no matter what. There are lots of ways they could've gone with that, rather than make all of their sacrifices and everything Haochen went through look like it was for nothing. Fang Lei also deserved to be put in her place for all the things she's done, instead of getting to fly to London after affecting the rest of Haochen's life and finding some sick and twisted love with Han Weiping. Overall, it feels like a big waste of time because they lured us in at the beginning, but then made the drama really boring in the middle, and then rushed everything in the end, leaving so many loose ends. I think the biggest reason the show got so popular is because of Lusi, and I'm almost certain that if there was any other FL, more than half the viewers would've dropped the show or started hating a lot. I just wish we could get a special episode with all of those scenes I mentioned earlier, which would make the show so much better, but I know it's not possible. I guess I'll just be waiting for Lusi's next drama while patiently rewatching Hidden Love every time I miss her on my screen.

I think he did, because in episode 31, he says he was detained by the police and lost his lawyer's license because…
Well, after all, he was his godfather. And he trusted him as his family, and the fact that he promised to give him his own firm and all of Jinda's legal cases if he got the company. And as we all know, greed is always man's biggest weakness. I just don't like how they made him seem innocent and face no repercussions for anything, and gave him basically a happy ending with Fang Lei in London.

Why is that lawyer not charged with kidnapping? He clearly took the kid without permission to the empty building…
I think he did, because in episode 31, he says he was detained by the police and lost his lawyer's license because of what happened with Haochen.

For those who watched from illegal sites and haven’t gotten the subtitles yet, you need to be patient because…
I'm extremely grateful already that I get to watch dramas at all, since my parents are very against asian dramas and TV so there is no way they would get me a subscription or anything like that, so without these sites, I would have no way to watch anything (and that would be devastating for me as I've now grown to love and become very attached to all of the languages and cultures I learn about while watching dramas), but I'm just curious as to why the subtitles aren't out yet when there's never been this problem with any other drama. Basically, I'm not complaining, just wondering. And I only came on here to see if other people are also having the same problem, and now that I know they do, I'm more than happy to catch up on my other shows while I wait for the subtitles to be released.

So if my Google Translate is working properly, the express package is tomorrow? Because if so, called it!

I hope we get the express on Saturday. I stopped watching after episode 23 and have been saving them to stack and binge together. I keep getting spoiled on tiktok, but I just can't wait to see them happy together for once. Xu Yan deserves so much more than what she's getting right now.

I just saw a comment on tiktok that said, "What if Sang Yan met Shen Hao Ming?" and I am currently unwell. Sang Yan would've never let our baby cry over a man like him, and she wouldn't have fallen for the little things that SHM did if she had grown up with the love Sang Yan provided her in HL 😭😭😭.

Nothing since showing up in the trailer for 2025 dramas at the beginning of the year. It's been on that section…
I actually think the reason so many people want to watch it is because it was filmed and edited so long ago that it has that romcom vibe that older dramas had that so many of us miss, so it makes us want to watch it. I just hope that Tencent realizes what a big landmine they're sitting on and releases the drama.

What I usually do when the female lead plays hard to get for many episodes is watch until they break up, then…
I usually just put it in a faster playback speed, like 1.5x or 2x. I don't really like skipping scenes because then you might miss out on some facts important to the show or a nice scene in between, but I agree that it might be a lot better for your mental health than wanting to throw your laptop across the room due to the miscommunication tropes, lol.
