Pleasantly surprised. Thought this was going to be another dark revenge story just based on the info that FL was infiltrating suspects house as a housekeeper. This mild thriller's charm came from the romance, suspense, plot twists, acting, & story length (not too long or short) which made it enjoyable.
Thought it would have been way cooler if drama went in the direction of ML helping FL shed her old wife vibe & we saw her become the awesome rock chic shown singing w/guitar player ML in the intro to each episode.
The reviews above seem too harsh. I just finished this drama & there were many things I liked about it such as the humor, the actors, the plot twists, the music & the non-scary horror element (heavy horror is not my thing). It did start out stronger than it finished, so a shorter series might of been better.....still one to try.
My suspicions as to how inadequate this show was going to be was verified in the 1st episode when the door malfunctioned during class assignment. However, my fav part was when all the moms made a meal for their son & strong confident, independent, young men became little boys who loved/needed their moms ...so adorable.
Wasn't expecting to like it as much as my fav version (Meteor Garden 2018 - Chinese). Well, I didn't, but it's still very good. Liked it better than Japanese & Korean versions tho. All versions are good so you can't go wrong watching any of them.
With so many versions, a small part of me wanted FL to end up w/Ren & ML w/ Lita - just to be different. ML2 actually felt like a real conder in this version.
The acting, characters, humor, music & story potential made me love it. The lack of story details (like time elapses), ML2 (an untapped resource), FL2 (the no boundaries psycho stalker) & the ENDING made me hate it. All on all I still really enjoyed it. ..... I wouldn't be opposed to a sequel .
Wanted to dislike it....but can't & not sure why. Maybe Xie Bin Bin or maybe I am a sucker for this time period in history? I feel like it was, a missed opportunity, such a shame.
Support M1 (Li Ge Yang) reminded me of Lee Jong Suk, so cute. This drama made me feel so conflicted. I wanted to love it but..... I had strong rotating feelings of love, like & hate depending on character, scene, &/or actor.
All in all this drama was "Soo /Soo" (pun intended) because I honestly didn't have a strong opinion on who FL was better suited for. There was a scene in this drama that totally reminded me of Start -Up. The one where Nam Do San & Han Ji Pyung visit FL's home & end up in coordinating t-shirts......In this drama when Lee Soo & Ohn Joon Soo were at FL's house after being drunk.
Hidden Gem, Guilty pleasure & Highly Recommend. Started watching it because I thought it was going to be about a werewolf (Lupin meaning werewolf in the wizarding world of Harry Potter). .....Ahhh Yes 1 of those "senior moments"
