All episodes are now out on Viki. And yes, they did translate the Korean lines which FL couldn't understand while…
Thank you for this comment! I watched on Netflix & they do not have ML's thoughts translated in English. It was frustrating since this is such a big piece of the story arc.
Glad no kissing! Age gaps of actors (12 years) for main couple & (17 years) for 2nd couple wasn't giving me the warm fuzzy romantic feelz. The acting & characters were enjoyable though..
The Japanese & Chinese were so different. Both are good. Preferred the Japanese version a skoosh better due to the ML character. A total surprise because I really love Shen Yue's acting.
Like every drama there were things I enjoyed & things I did not. After shelving this drama due to the lawyer theme, I am really surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The focus was on the mystery & love story.
About 5 Years ago I forced myself to watch them completely & didn't really enjoy them....dropped /picked up multiple times. Every so often I try to rewatch a popular drama I didn't care for so last year I rewatched Reply 1988 & 1997 and really enjoyed them.
Gore isn't my cup of tea but watched it for Seo In Guk.
In my opinion, if gore is part of a movie/drama then it needs to support or enhance a strong story... not replace, drown or cheapen it. Needed less gore more details.
Started out good. I fell asleep for a few of the middle episodes & woke back up for the last two. It seems I have no burning desire to go back to watch the episodes I missed.
Watched because Amazon Prime put it in their suggestions list based on my watch history. Enjoyed the Indian culture storyline. Mahir Pandhi's looks kept reminding me of Bradley Cooper.
I feel like I've experienced what selective amnesia or Alzheimer's would be like. I could detect many individual pieces eg. multiple personas, but with a high degree of frustration I couldn't see how all the pieces fit together to make a cohesive story. An ambitious movie that could really have been something special if done right.
KSH's acting in this made me appreciate his skills even more! Spoiler question above.
Liked or disliked is a different question than disappointed or not. Disappointed to me means it still had something to like about it, but the expectations put on it (individually or by others) didn't come to fruition.
Out of the [75] listed here:
--- [26] made it to my PTW list ---[2] Unwatched to date (Moving & Destined with You) - on the fence about watching ---[1] dropped (Bo Ra Deborah - wasn't enjoying it) ---[3] disliked (Bo Rah Deborah & Mask Girl - wasn't my cup of tea & Crash Course Romance) ---[3] my disappointments (Doona, My Blooming Youth, Mask Girl) ---[2] good surprises (My Dearest, Twinkling Watermelon) ---[25] glad I watched - likable ---[1] add to list: Love of Replica - Mysterious Love was so good, but this sequel...)
PS. I saw Somebody Someday first then A Time Called You, both have their charms. Enjoyed your list.
Picked this up as a filler waiting for other newer dramas on Netflix to finish up so I can binge them. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Maybe my expectations were low? I would recommend as a one-time watch for sure.
