Umm, so I heard a lot about this drama....I didn't watch it yet and I need some honest opinions...Is it a masterpiece?…
Yes, it's definitely a masterpiece and 10/10 for me. If you listen to what the characters say throughout the drama, you'll be able to understand their motivations and accept their actions at the end. Happy watching! π
I think I'll drop it too (11th ep). I can't digest such overromanticised resistance movements. Also the age gap...…
Go Aeshin was 28 years old in 1903 and Kim Taeri was the same age during filming. Eugene Choi was supposed to be 12 years older, but Lee Byunghun was 20 years older irl. People didn't really make a fuss over the age gap after they got invested in the romance. I don't see how the resistance movement was over-romanticised given that the drama is based on true historical events.
Everyone say its sad ending, well I guess im not watch this show
I still highly recommend watching this show. If you think of it as a coming of age drama about achieving your dreams, then it actually has a happy ending for everyone. It's a story about first love and isn't a standard rom-com, so as long as you don't blindly ship the leads and ignore what they say, then you'll understand the decisions made and see they were done with the other person's best interests at heart.
Kim tae Ri with super short hair like JN π₯ΉπShe looks so goood! https://x.com/imbc_news/status/1717668833962660009?s=46
I reckon Taeri would rock an even shorter style such as Jamie Lee Curtis or Judi Dench. She looks better with her hair off her beautiful face to highlight her eyes and bone structure. π₯°
Watch Taeri's holiday wish list video (with Maya Hawke) on Prada's Tiktok channel. She's so cute when she speaks English! https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSNkoQv7B/
The most boring "masterpiece" there is. π Dropped this.Just watch Chicago Typewriter instead for a good 20th…
Although Song of the Bandits is set after Mr Sunshine finishes and references independence fighters, I don't think the two dramas should be compared because they're totally different genres. Mr Sunshine is a beautiful epic based on historical events, whereas SOTB is a fictional action series in the style of a cowboy western. SOTB was an exciting but formulaic one-time watch for me and is way below Mr Sunshine's league.
I'm here for Kim Tae Ri and I am interested to know how the story is if it will make me not go to the bathroom…
It's a mystery suspense thriller rather than a horror. I personally didn't think it was scary. You definitely have to watch it for Kim Taeri's amazing acting!

I've re-watched 25 21 countless times and never get sick of it. The funny bits are still really funny and the emotional parts still pack a punch, but fewer tissues are needed.

BYJ goes to New York in Sept 2001 and NHD breaks up with him in 2002. The story jumps forward 7 years (labelled on screen) when BJY is appointed the UBS news anchor. He interviews NHD in 2009 after she wins her 3rd consecutive "Olympic" gold medal and belatedly congratulates her on her marriage. The time jumps are therefore clear and NHD doesn't replace BYJ straight away. One issue I have with the timeline is with NHD's daughter's age. If she was 15, then NHD would've gotten married in 2007 at the latest. Why would BYJ belated congratulate her on the marriage 2 years later if she was already a mother? If they had made the daughter 12, it would've made sense that NHD got married just before the 2009 games and had her daughter after she retired. The way the daughter was dressed on the show was too babyish for a 15 yo. But maybe they made her 15 because they thought 12 was too young to be reading the diary.
There are several reviews on IMDB where the person says they loved up to ep 14/15, but then give a 1/10 rating because of the ending! WTF?! I get that many people don't like the ending, but they should still give a reasonable score overall if they loved it until then. If a gymnast falls etc, then the judges give a set score deduction and don't disregard what happened before, so drama reviewers should do the same. Unfortunately IMDB doesn't have a Comments section. π€¬
I read other comments, I get her resentment toward her mother's absence but first most of lonelyness she felt…
Yes, if people really listen to what the characters say throughout the drama instead of shipping them at all costs, then they will understand the ending and won't be too disappointed. Plus it doesn't matter who NHD's husband is, people just have to accept that it's not BYJ. πͺ

IMO it was BYJ who was closed off and didn't share his feelings as NHD wanted him to. He didn't even tell her that he was applying for the NY job! NHD knew her support wasn't reaching him, they weren't going to see each other much and that his career was equally important, so she had to let him go for both their sakes. She needed someone emotionally available & supportive and not someone who was becoming like her mother. They both had different dreams to achieve, so sadly it wasn't the right time to be together. πͺ
