In my case, I can actually see how this would fit in the korean industry. I love your cast. It's actually very…
Thank you so much! It's surreal to hear from someone you kinda look up to. This really means a lot. :D

Thank you for reading my article! What would your perfect cast be? :)
Thank you! I really wanted to cast the supporting characters too, but I feared that the length of the article would be unbearable. *sigh* I absolutely love Lee Jun Ho, he'd make a great Vulture if he were older. Doug Judy is a great character and deserves an equally great casting. I wonder who make a good Wuntch too? Thank you for taking the time to come up with your choices! :D <3

I love Brooklyn 99 and I love Korean dramas but there are a lot of issues in B99 that I am not confident Korean…
I agree with you. There are social issues portrayed in B-99 that would never sit well with the Korean audience, what with the country having a mostly homogeneous population. As seen in variety shows, exposure to new issues causes them to either be put off by them or-like you said- mock them. However I still feel that there are social issues that are relatively universal, and that could possibly be the foundation for a LOOSE adaptation maybe? Thank you for reading and commenting, this really means a lot! :)

Beforehand I would like to congratulate you on writing such a creative article, and the casting choices you made…
Another user commented similarly on whether the show would be able to translate well on the Korean screen, and I agree, there is a stark cultural and societal constrast. However, at it's core, B-99 is a (sometimes satirical) comedy. It may be over the top but that's most entertainment for you. So I feel that a slice of life South Korean police comedy that still maintains the heart and hilarity of B-99 might possibly do well? Or I might just be too optimistic.

Thank you so much for such high praise! And a bigger thank you for taking the time to comment on such a thought-provoking matter!

Kudos for your first article! It is perfectly done! A loose adaptation/remake of this series (to fit Korean society)…
I cannot even begin to thank you for such high praise! This means a lot, thank you so much. :D

I can only see Ma Dong-Seok as a replacement for Terry Crews
I agree with that but Terry Crews is someone with great stature alongside a buff body, and I feel Ma Dong Seok lacks a little in that aspect. But thank you so much for taking the time to read my article and for your input. I'm glad more people have ideas regarding how the show would translate on the Korean screen. :)

Omg! I can totally imagine this. I so love this cast. And though I absolutely love So Ji sub, I’d prefer Choi…
Choi Jin Hyuk is an awesome actor! I loved him in Gu Family Book, so charming and heartbreaking at the same time. Thank you for taking the time to read this little article of mine :)

Hahahaha that's okay. I totally agree with you. The hosts are terrible at giving advice. I guess it'll get better in due time, but that's me being my optimistic self. We'll have to wait and see.

I believe that's so because dramas are specifically tailored to cater to the general Korean audience, (they gained momentum worldwide only in the last decade or so) while there's only so far one can go with scripting variety shows. Your comment reminded me of an episode of Hello Counselor where a Moroccan immigrant complained of severe discrimination.

oh shit I need this so badly now! this is the first time ive agreed with both a remake and the casting, damn this…
I'm glad you liked it. I wholeheartedly agree with the fact that it would be interesting to see how the societal issues are tackled, especially in the setting of a country like Korea which has a mostly homogeneous population

I can't believe my favorite anime movie (Howl's Moving Castle) featured the voice of Kimura Takuya since I had only ever seen the dubbed version with Christian Bale. I need to go watch the original again, like a hundred times.
