A lot of fiction writers borrow from the people in their lives in bits and pieces.

It's set in a Catholic school/seminary. Of course, they'd consult with priests so they don't misrepresent the setting. Plus, talking to gay priests to help build characterisation.

The Catholic church is not about to use BLs as a vehicle for religious propaganda. Relax.

Of course, Bucket would defend his father hitting his mother. It's possible she forgave them, but I am glad she died and didn't give it to them verbally. They need to stew in the guilt for the rest of their lives. And that old man. Your wife returns home dishevelled, her clothes torn, face looking like she's been hit, and the first reaction isn't concern but accusations of adultery? He needs to be in pain forever.

She's not supposed to be a villain. She's a plot device.

I wouldn't call the actors homophobic based on that article either but I think there is room for nuance that might not be apparent to non-Japanese folx. It's more than just what they said at face value, but it feels like it's part of a larger issue?

She gave her child up for adoption for the chance at a better life. That is not abandonment.

Giving this a 10 just because I can. It has its flaws, and I disliked most of the characters. Still, the storytelling and acting are better than anything I have seen in a while.

It was true to the character. She hasn't the faintest idea about modern medicine and freaked out when she saw the one person she feels is on her side dying. I mean, she heard medical emergency and thought she could fix it by pricking the person's finger.

I love Grandma but Li Ink needs to crumble to dust. But then they'll find a way to blame my babe for it. Ass hats.
